Venezuelan Toilet Paper Shortage

Venezuela is dealing with a crisis of epic proportion…they are running out of toilet paper! The government is blaming political opponents for the shortage, though economists say it is an attempt at price control that set the price of toilet tissue below market. It’s creating a nationwide demand for the restroom necessity in the country and people are lining up to buy it before it completely runs out. Reports say that some stores are holding people to only four rolls.   This is not the only thing the country has seen a shortage of. Milk, butter, coffee and cornmeal have also run short. According to economists, state-controlled prices – prices that are set below market-clearing price – always result in shortages. The prices were set to make consumer goods available to poorer areas but they seem to be backfiring and having a negative effect, rather than a positive one.  The government has said they are bringing in 50 million rolls of toilet paper to assist their citizens restroom needs. Commerce minister Alejandro Fleming said monthly consumption of toilet paper was normally 125m rolls, but that current demand "leads us to think that 40m more are required". Whether this will help the problem or temporarily delay the issue remains to be seen.  Hopefully the Venezuelan people can make it through this crisis and get their government back on track. Portable Restroom Trailers hopes that a solution to this shortage can be found soon so the people don’t continue to struggle. As a restroom trailer provider we hate to see anyone without a comfortable restroom experience.      Additionally, Portable Restroom Trailers would like to express our sympathy to the people of Oklahoma who were struck by the tornado this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Portable Restroom Trailers Aids Hurricane Sandy Relief

Teri Pahon, owner of Portable Restroom Trailers, was contacted by Police Chief Boyd from Seaside Heights, NJ, one of the hardest hit communities from Hurricane Sandy. Chief Boyd spoke with Pahon on Wednesday to inquire about having restroom and shower trailers sent to New Jersey for the relief workers. Pahon was also contacted by a Post Office in order to keep the offices open and running in the areas that had lost power and water, and additionally by another community for portable restrooms for their Fire Department. Pahon responded immediately and sent the portable trailers to NJ for the Post Office and emergency personnel to use.   Since much of the Jersey Shore was without power, gas, and water, that meant there was nowhere for the emergency response teams to shower, wash hands, or even answer nature’s call. They needed help and Portable Restroom Trailers offered a quick solution.   “Even without water, we will be installing portable tanks and refilling water and providing a pumper service as they need it,” stated Pahon. Within twenty-four hours, Pahon’s company had their trailers up and running with heat and hot water.   The portable restroom trailers supplied to the emergency workers are self contained with fresh water and waste water tanks, and generators are supplied when necessary for power to light and heat them. The shower trailer provides private shower stations, whereas the restroom trailer provides private stalls with flushable toilets instead. Although there are still residents without power or even a home, the emergency response teams are working hard to help rebuild the communities, and Portable Restroom Trailers is helping make the relief efforts a success.   Portable Restroom Trailers has been in business since 2007 and provides quality mobile restroom equipment and services nationwide. Shower Trailers and Combo Units Sent For Sandy Relief Efforts

Posted on Oct 31, 2012 - 04:30 PM | Disaster Relief | Comments (61)

Hurricane Sandy brought with her an astonishing assortment of weather conditions resulting in wind, rain, floods, and snow to the eastern region of the U.S. Disaster relief efforts are being organized and teams are being dispersed to the areas that were devastated by the "Super Storm". Throughout the cleanup and rebuilding process the relief workers will need places to shower, wash hands, use the toilet, or simply have a moment to themselves.   Portable Restroom Trailers is happy to contribute to the relief efforts by providing shower trailers, as well as shower combo units to Seaside Heights and Old Bridge, New Jersey. These portable trailers are a practical solution for the aftermath, where the wind is still blowing and debris is everywhere, since they are durable and everything is conveniently together in one place.   Shower trailers come in a variety of styles and sizes and are available with anywhere from two to sixteen showers. Each shower station has its own lockable door for ultimate privacy, along with a changing area and a bench to sit on. The showers are spacious and provide instant hot water from a water-saving shower head. The trailer also includes a central powder room with a vanity, full mirror, and sinks. They are even climate controlled, so they can be used in the sweltering summer or the freezing winter.   The shower combo trailer is also available in different sizes and styles, and is much like a portable shower trailer, except that it contains flushable toilets. They can come with private shower suites with separate entrances and separate toilet and sink suites, or they can come with multiple all-in-one suites, or they can come with multiple shower stalls and multiple toilet stalls with a large central powder room. The combo units are also climate controlled for maximum comfort.   Both types of portable trailers are very safe, easy to use, and easy to clean. Even without water, portable tanks will be use... The 2012 Storm Season Is Upon Us

Posted on May 18, 2012 - 10:00 AM | Disaster Relief | Comments (34)

Already in 2012, we have seen a handful of earthquakes and an outbreak of deadly tornados. And hurricane season hasn’t even begun yet. It’s time to prepare for the relief that people will need as we head into the “super storm” time of year. Natural disasters not only bring physical damage, but also emotional devastation to those who experience it. After the destruction of a natural disaster is when most people are vulnerable; wondering where do I go, what do I do, how do I begin to put my life back together? There are many organizations that aid in disaster relief, all offering something different. Some bring food and water, some offer laundry cleaning; others help rebuild homes and businesses, while others provide portable restrooms and showers. When your loved ones are all you have left, a good meal and a warm shower go a long way. Portable restroom and shower trailers are a necessity to those who have lost their own amenities. There are trailers that have restrooms only, showers only, or combos that include both restrooms and showers. All of them include sinks. They are private, climate controlled, clean, sanitary, and offer just a little bit of comfort and peace of mind after a turbulent storm. We are thankful to all of the supporting organizations that when a disaster happens, are there to help and encourage our fellow human beings.
