There Really Are Snow And Ice Houses??Posted on Dec 12, 2012 - 01:00 PM | Winter Events | Comments (7)Did you know that there are actual snow and ice houses that you can go in? Some are just for looking, but others are palaces that you can tour, some are hotels that you can stay in, and some are forts to play in. We’re amazed that such places can be built to maintain their form to be safe enough to stay inside. Although with subzero temperatures, these noble structures won’t be melting any time soon. Would you be willing to sleep on a bed of ice? If you stay at an ice hotel, your bed is made of ice, though you sleep in specialized sleeping bags that the hotel provides. As you can imagine, everything from the ground up in these places is ice…from the ice glasses in which drinks are served, to the tables and chairs, to the chapel where weddings and services take place. There’s just one thing that seems to be missing, and of course you know we have to ask…how and where does one go to the bathroom?? Take a minute to view some of these featured extravagant World’s Wildest Snow and Ice Houses. We’re sure you’ll be just as astonished as we are! Worry-free Winter Restroom TrailersPosted on Aug 20, 2012 - 02:00 PM | Winter Events | Comments (2)Have you started thinking about winterizing your RV or camper trailer yet? Although Labor Day is a week away and there might be one more chance to get in a camping trip, most families start packing up their campers and RVs after the long weekend, and once school starts. In order to successfully keep your RV or trailer safe during the winter months, you will need to winterize it. There is a suggested list of things to do, but the most important thing to do is flush all the water out of the pipes. The last thing you want is a frozen pipe to burst- talk about a mess! Once the pipes are clear of water, flush antifreeze (specifically for RV) through the pipes until it runs out of the faucets. Then make sure all of the faucets are completely off. If you want a little added protection, pour some antifreeze in all of the drains…it’s better to be safe than sorry. There are other tips to preventing damage to your RV such as making sure any openings or vents are completely closed off to little animal friends looking for a warm shelter, which The Complete Idiot’s Guide provides. You can also go to your local RV/Camper dealer to get some good suggestions on how to winterize, as well. Luckily, portable restroom trailers come with a special winter package. If you’re thinking of having a winter event, a portable restroom is the best way to go because it is safe, private, and most importantly, heated. Your guests won’t have to freeze their behinds off (no pun intended!) when nature calls, which will make them very happy. Super Bowl Survival: Staying Warm When Nature CallsPosted on Jan 30, 2012 - 01:00 PM | Winter Events | Comments (22)Here’s a great story we just found posted on WTHR 13, the NBC affiliate in Indianapolis. Seems some people are worried about keeping warm during the cold weather in Indy for Super Bowl weekend, particularly when it comes to using portable restrooms. Can you blame them? Sitting on a cold porta potty seat in freezing temperatures can make for one very unpleasant experience. Usually this isn’t a problem, because the game is held in a warm city, like Miami or San Diego, but Indy won the bid for Super Bowl XLVI and they want to show the world that a cold weather city can host a memorable big game weekend. So the city’s event planners went all out to make sure that the hundreds of thousands of visitors who will be pouring into Indy for the big game were warm and cozy at all the events—including the time spent answering nature’s call between events. And that means heat lamps hanging down from the street lamps, heated benches throughout the city, and more than your average portable restroom trailer, with warmer interiors, had to be available. We’re proud to say they chose to include trailers from Portable Restroom Trailers. If you check the link, you’ll see they call them “swanky,” but besides being upscale and comfortable, they also have special winter packages that include heated interiors and heated water. This technology allows outdoor events to be enjoyable for everyone who attends, even when they have to use a portable restroom in the dead of winter. And especially when you’re trying to convince an NFL committee to let you host a Super Bowl again… The good news is planners now have more options available to keep guests coming out to events, no matter what the weather. And can expand planning calendars beyond just the over-booked high season, opening up new business opportunities. It looks like having warm, comfortable portable restrooms might just be the... More |
