Of the many partnerships we’ve made with businesses over the years, we always value the relationships we make with those who exist to aid the community. While many picture California summer as a place to enjoy beaches, pools, and sunshine, it is also a state that is consumed by wildfires that put families in danger. The nature of their greenery, like fields, trees, and plants, is such that during the hot months, they get so dry that the smallest spark can start a huge wildfire. Our ADA Restroom Trailers are supporting Firefighters who bravely fight these wildfires.This year, the state of California has been overwhelmed by summer wildfires. Communities that have never experienced this natural disaster before now have homes at risk, and firefighters work tirelessly to battle the spreading flames. These families are in our thoughts and prayers, and when opportunities for us to help arose, we were quick to do so.As leading providers for ADA restroom trailers, we partnered with organizations who hope to provide wildfire relief to those affected by the fire and those who fight it. When the Rotary Club of Clear Lake wanted to aid their community, we were happy to partner with them.ROTARY CLUB WITH A CAUSEInternationally, Rotary Club is an organization of 1.2 million people whose goal is to create positive change in their communities. They hope to encourage not only themselves, but all individuals to use their passion, energy, and intelligence to take on life-changing projects. Members of these clubs consider themselves champions for good, getting involved with projects in education, clean water initiatives, community projects, and more.Over 35,000 rotary clubs around the world pride themselves on taking action. These organizations are full of professionals who are compassionate and ready to create change. They love that the club brings them together to make long-lasting friendships with like-minded volunteers. The clubs make diversity a priority, wanting to get the passionate opinions of many different people from all backgrounds of life.The Rotary Club of Clear Lake in California saw a need in their community when the wildfires overwhelmed the area. They took it upon themselves to begin raising funds for wildfire relief, supporting firefighters and families with homes at risk alike. This club helped to start the Lake Area Rotary Club Fire Relief Fund (LARCA) which provided relief efforts that now include the Napa, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino County Fire victims.Since 2015, the Clear Lake Club, in partnership with other Lake County Rotary clubs, has raised nearly $1 million in aid. These funds have been sent to businesses and residents who were affected and lost so much as a result of wildfires over the last couple of years. These funds helped in so many ways, from housing for those affected to shelter, support, and grief counseling services. “The goal of our committee from day 1 has been to find the holes in the system and get the help to where it is needed most and do it with zero overhead costs” said Ron Roberts, President of the Lake Area Rotary Club Association.Some of these funds were used to support the firefighters who were risking their lives to protect the community. He decided that the business idea that was best for the land and its wildlife would be a luscious vineyard. Bill’s family began planting the vineyard, and soon 74 acres of vines were thriving.Cache Creek Vineyards specializes in a wide variety of wines: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Syrah, with about half the acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Keeping the wildlife in mind, the family has maintained sustainable farming practices as it continued to grow.
