Liberty State Park and Restroom Trailers

Two years ago, Hurricane Sandy struck the east coast. The Statue of Liberty, one of our most treasured national monuments, is still rebuilding from the storm. Liberty State Park has worked with Portable Restroom Trailers since it reopened a little over a year ago.Liberty State Park is one of the areas surrounding Liberty Island that was damaged most by Sandy. The park took nearly a year to re-open and offer ferry services to the island. As the most popular destination in the State Park system, with 5.4 million visitors last year, it was great to have the park open for all of 2014.During the storm, the terminal building where the ferry tickets were sold and security screenings took place was damaged significantly. The temporary security screening area is using a restroom trailer while the park continues to rebuild.Last year, we supplied Liberty State Park with a 6 unit Advantage series restroom trailer. This year, they are renting our ADA+2 restroom trailer. This is a great trailer to add handicap accessible restrooms to an existing portable restroom or to an existing restroom facility. With the diverse number of visitors the ferry to Liberty Island receives each day it is important to accommodate everyone. As a State Park, it’s essential for Liberty State Park to comply with New Jersey’s regulations. Our restroom trailers are considered ADA Compliant as a permanent structure in all 50 states. They include easier access, shorter ramps, more space, and easy operation. The restroom interiors are also designed with an attractive interior to satisfy all kinds of guests. It’s no surprise Liberty State Park is the most popular state park. As the rebuilding continues, we look forward to seeing more and more people flock back to the park and to the Statue of Liberty. We’re grateful Portable Restroom Trailers has a role in the process.

How to Prepare Your Event for a Snow Storm with Restroom Trailers

This past weekend, Hurricane Electra covered many parts of the country with a thick blanket of snow; just in time for the holidays. If you’re getting ready to go skiing, skating, or sledding, this weather is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. If you’re planning an event, especially outdoors, this could give you some added anxiety.A chance of snow or even an incoming snow storm may not necessarily mean the end of your carefully planned event. There are many things you can do to plan ahead and make sure everyone attends your event safely and comfortably no matter what the weather.Clear the Parking LotMake sure you have enough parking for all of your guests. Find out who will be plowing your parking area in the event of snow. Even after being cleared, snow may reduce the space you have to fit your guest’s cars. Plan ahead with a backup location for parking.Prepare the EntranceIf your event is indoors, set up your entrance to accommodate guests coming in from the cold and snow. This area should be prepared to have snow tracked in on people’s winter boots. It should also have room for people to hang their winter coats, hats, and gloves.Serve Warm Food and BeveragesEspecially for an outdoor event, anticipate people looking for food and drink that will warm them up. Serve hot chocolate and coffee, and perhaps even consider a S’mores station.Use Outdoor HeatersPatio heaters or fire pits are great ways to warm up your outdoor areas. Patio heaters are ideal for creating a warm outdoor area without the smoke or smell of a fire. If your event is more upscale, consider renting a few heaters to spread around the area.Make Restrooms Easily AccessibleWhen using a restroom trailer for your outdoor event, make sure it can be easily accessed by your guests. Attach it to the side of your event tent or place it nearby with a neatly cleared path. Portable Restroom Trailers can be equipped with insulation and climate control to keep your guests comfortable.Communication Plan for ChangesNo matter how well you plan your event, there may be situations where it would be safer to cancel or postpone. If the weather becomes too dangerous make sure you have a way to inform your guests about the change. If there is a chance of cancellation, let everyone know ahead of time how you will let them know about this change.Whether it is under clear skies or a flurry of snow we hope your next event goes off without a hitch!

Restroom Trailers in Stony Point, NY

Stony Point, NY has many great locations for outdoor activities, such as the Patriot Hills Golf Course and Washington’s Lookout, not to mention plenty of parks. One park in particular, Riverfront Park, has a new fishing pier and portable restrooms. The old pier and bathrooms at the park were damaged by Hurricane Sandy.Portable Restroom Trailers was able to help out and send portable restroom units to Stony Point parks and golf courses so that guests could have a safe and comfortable place to answer nature’s call, change diapers, wash hands, or even take a second to cool off. Now residents of the waterfront community can enjoy fishing on the new pier and using the new portable restroom facilities.Since Hurricane Sandy’s havoc on the eastern seaboard destroyed so many waterfront community restroom facilities, many are now seeking the use of restroom trailers since they are portable. The restroom trailers can be quickly and easily moved to a safe area if a storm is approaching. Once the storm passes, the trailer can be put back in place for further use. They are a very practical solution to a long, lasting problem of beach and waterfront communities.Restroom trailers include clean running water, soap, ventilated fresh air, and foot-flushable china toilets so that guests have a sanitary environment to go to. Most are also climate controlled. They provide an experience that is as close to the comforts of home as possible. We’re glad to have been able to help out our friends in Stony Point. We hope they make many great memories on the new pier and enjoy the new portable restroom facilities!

Restroom Trailer at Liberty Park Reopening

After closing for repair from the damages of superstorm Sandy, the Statue of Liberty reopened last week just in time for the 4th! It was inspiring for the thousands in attendance to see one of the nation’s symbols of freedom reopened on America’s birthday. We were proud to assist the reopening with one of our restroom trailers.Liberty Island and Liberty State Park have been closed since October, 2012 due to damages from Hurricane Sandy. While Lady Liberty herself suffered no damage the structures around the statue needed major repairs. While there was some cosmetic damage to the island and docks, the biggest problem was below ground, where floodwaters damaged heating and cooling equipment, sewage treatment equipment and most of the island’s power supply. It was unclear whether Liberty Park would also open in time for the Fourth of July festivities. The docks that provide ferry transportation to Liberty Island were also damaged in the storm. This left Manhattan as the only place visitors could board a ferry to see the statue. Liberty Park opening means the opportunity for thousands who would otherwise not have been able to see the statue to make the trip. Our portable restroom will accommodate Liberty Park visitors for the summer while the rebuilding process continues. Our 6 unit Advantage series restroom trailer was put in place on July 3rd, to provide quality, clean, flushable restroom facilities for guests visiting Liberty Park. The unit is fully climate controlled with air conditioning and heat. The interior fresh water tank, allows the unit to be used where no water access is available. The self contained waste water tank will serve large crowds in between servicing.Portable Restroom Trailers is proud to be part of the rebuilding process. This Fourth of July we celebrated the strength we have shown as a nation as we overcome this tragedy.
