Portable Shower Trailers Aid in Hawaii Volcano Disaster Relief

As a leading provider of restroom trailer rentals, it is always a pleasure to work with a wide variety of businesses. We are proud to provide a diverse collection of shower and restroom trailer options, fitting the needs of luxury companies and grassroots establishments alike. While building successful business relationships is always a priority, taking time to give back to the community is also important to us. We have had many nonprofits come to us with a desire to help their community and we are eager to assist them. When we were approached by multiple nonprofits who were interested in supporting families affected by volcano eruptions in Hawaii, we know this was an opportunity to use our business to help those in need. VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS ON HAWAIIAN ISLANDS There are five volcanoes that make up Hawaii’s big island: Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, Mauna Loa, and Kilauea. Three of these are currently active, and Kilauea has remained the most active since 1983. While activity for Kilauea is nothing new, scientists were shocked by it’s sudden eruption that had lava spilling into residential communities. It all began in mid-March, when an increase in lava caused the volcano’s typical lava footprint to expand. This surge of magma ultimately caused the crater floor to collapse by the end of April, which allowed for excess magma to flow to the nearest residential community, the Puna District. Small earthquakes shook the area over the next week, but real shock came when the earthquake intensity reached 5.0 and 6.9-magnitude. The newly opened fissures from these larger quakes allowed lava to creep up, causing it to spread at a much more rapid pace.A couple of these fissures are what is causing the constant flow of red hot lava, and explosions have been noted as well. The earth continued to shake over the weeks, keeping fissures and explosions active. This fascinating natural disaster is quite unpredictable for scientists, forcing residents to leave their homes and find refuge elsewhere.Today, frequent eruptions and thousands of earthquakes have shaken the area around Kilaeua. 706 homes have been destroyed, displacing hundreds of families. The volcano does not seem to be backing down - explosions continue daily with no sign of stopping in the near future. Mandatory evacuations remain in place and several dozen shelters have been set up to house those who have lost their homes. We applaud the many nonprofit organizations who have stepped up and used their resources to help the victims of the volcano disasters. When they came to us for decon trailers, we knew that we could provide an affordable solution that would bring comfort to those in need. A SHOWER TRAILER SOLUTION FOR VOLCANO VICTIMS Given the extreme circumstances, we knew we had to think fast and come up with a portable trailer that satisfied the needs of the affected communities. They needed a durable temporary solution that could easily service a high volume of users. The specific need for these communities was for accessible showers. They simply had too many people in need and not enough shower space to properly service everyone. We were able to suggest the 8 Station Portable Shower Trailer for Rent, Sierra Series. This portable shower trailer is purposefully designed for a high volume of use and was a great solution to send to the communities affected by volcano eruptions. The Sierra Series is compact yet comfortable environment measuring 24 feet. The clean, fresh exterior and aluminum steps and rails greets guests and ensures that they have safe and easy access. The interior is fitted with non-skid rubber flooring to ensure that guests can shower safely without worrying about slipping. Eight private showers await each visitor, and curtains ensure plenty of privacy during use.The entire unit is insulated to ensure that the interior temperature stays comfortable despite outside weather conditions. It also comes with air conditioning and heat strips, which help keep the temperature that much more comfortable. With a tank-less hot water system and showers that are very user friendly, the Sierra Series Portable Shower Trailer Rental is equipped for high volume use, easily providing each user with a positive shower experience. SUPPORT VICTIMS AFFECTED BY THE VOLCANO DISASTER We partnered with a number of nonprofits to supply our shower trailer rentals for many communities throughout Hawaii. Knowing that we could help those who may have lost everything enjoy something as basic as a hot shower is what motivates our company to continue to lead in innovation when it comes to the portable trailer business. We encourage you to take time to aid the citizens of Hawaii. Some have lost everything due to lava explosions and fires. Below are resources to donate and information on how to volunteer in disaster relief. Environmental Decon Trailers for Abatement and Remediation

In modern cities and towns across North America, people have become accustomed to seeing old structures torn down and new ones put up in their places.  As urban infrastructure evolves and communities are developed and re-developed, the landscape around us changes continually.  We all know that building is a huge industry.  But did you know that disposing of old building materials is a multibillion-dollar industry as well?Environmental decon trailers are a crucial part of many abatement and remediation jobs – allowing workers to get clean and return home safely.  As the remediation industry has grown over the years we have worked with some of the industry’s best companies.  Recently, we had the opportunity to partner up with a Canadian company that is one of the largest abatement and remediation contractors in the world. This company takes on some serious demolition projects, and they have a top-notch reputation for professionalism in their field.  When they contacted us to discuss a requirement for several new environmental decon trailers, we were happy to help.  Helping workers make it home safe every day is one of the most rewarding aspects of our business. How Decon Trailers Keep Employees Safe Old buildings contain old building materials, which means that lead, asbestos, arsenic, and other toxic materials are commonplace.  Demolition contractors plan demolition projects, execute demolitions, and manage the removal of all materials in compliance with complex government regulations.  They are involved in every step of the process and their engineers, project managers, and employees follow strict guidelines to maintain safe working conditions in the presence of unsafe materials. Before leaving the jobsite, many workers need to follow a strict decontamination process.  An environmental decon trailer is designed explicitly for this purpose, with tight controls and complex filtration systems to ensure that hazardous materials are securely captured and kept out of the environment. The Anatomy of a Modern Environmental Decon TrailerSome of our more luxurious shower trailers have more than 10 external entries.  But most decon trailers have only two doors – one door in and one door out.  The decontamination process begins outside the trailer, where an external utility sink is available to wash off gear, tools, and equipment.  When workers step into the trailer, they begin a multi-step process to remove even tiny particles of hazardous materials. The first room is the dirty room, where workers undress and place contaminated clothing into a chute which leads to a bin with negative air filtration to contain minute particles.  Workers then step forward through airlock curtains into a private shower stall, where the drain leads to a sophisticated filtration process and a large wastewater tank. After showering, workers step forward through another set of airlock curtains into the clean room, which has private lockers and a dressing area.  Many contractors also order or install laundry machines inside the trailer. There is ample room, and connections are standard.Industrial-Grade Decon Trailers for Abatement and RemediationHere at PRT, we’re always proud to help protect the workers who power our infrastructure and our economy.  In this case, we delivered several of the toughest decon trailers on the market today.  Our units are built with strong materials and superior design, with wet location-rated interior lighting throughout.  Their reputation for durability and longevity is strong in the demolition marketplace, and will continue to grow with our important new partnership in Canada. If you would like to learn more about environmental decon trailers, and how they can help to keep your workers safe, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.  Our staff is well-trained on the intricacies of decontamination, and we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  You can call us at (877) 600-8645, or chat with a live representative on our website today.

Emergency Management in North Carolina with Portable Shower Trailers

North Carolina Emergency Management is a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety that handles a wide spectrum of emergency and disaster management services for the state.  They’re some of the first people onsite for flash floods, chemical spills, hurricanes, and more.  With a long list of critical responsibilities, you might not think that an organization like this would be concerned about portable shower trailers.  But the staff at NCEM know that shower trailers are an irreplaceable part of many disaster response efforts. When the unexpected happens anywhere in the state, staff from North Carolina Emergency Management are among the first people onsite to begin triage and damage control.  And they’re also some of the last people involved in any emergency because of their active role in managing the state’s response and recovery efforts.  For the duration of their involvement, they have hardworking people in the field who need to go home safe and clean after every shift. With decades of experience handling man-made and natural disasters, this is one organization that truly understands the value of a portable shower trailer. Supporting North Carolina’s Emergency Workers North Carolina found itself in need of shower trailers in many coastal areas in the wake of 2016’s category 5 Hurricane Matthew.  Response workers in flood situations were exposed to a wide variety of dangers including waterborne diseases, harmful bacteria, and hazardous chemicals.  Shower trailers helped protect these workers, allowing them to return to their sleeping quarters safe and clean after a hard day’s work. The agency needs to make sure that there will be an ample supply of shower trailers available for instant mobilization along the coast for similar storms in the future.  Towards that end, NCEM has written several grants to fund the purchases of portable shower trailers that will be strategically located in municipalities throughout the state. We were honored when the agency contacted us to consult with them about their requirements, and we were pleased when they selected our shower trailers to protect their workers.  Here at PRT, we take a lot of pride in our support of emergency workers.  And we’re always happy to see one of our units shipping out to support the brave women and men who do this amazing work. Portable Shower Trailers for High-Impact Environments The gritty nature of disaster response work presents a unique challenge for any portable plumbing resource.  Add on the high volume of traffic from relief workers in rotating shifts, and you’re going to need one tough and durable shower trailer to stand up to this task. The Sierra Series 6-station shower trailer that NCEM selected is a great choice.  End-to-end vinyl sheet flooring provides a safe and clean surface that can tolerate high traffic.  Dual 100lb propane tanks fuel an on-demand gas water heater.  And a large 900-gallon waste tank helps keep maintenance to a minimum. The floorplan features 6 unisex shower suites, each with its own private external entry.  Each suite has a corner sink and a fold-down bench, and the entire unit is climate-controlled with a roof-mounted air conditioner and integrated heat strips.  At the back of the trailer is a dedicated laundry room with a stackable washer and dryer to handle soiled clothing and washable gear. Safe and Reliable Emergency Management Resources While shower trailers play an important role in emergency management, there are several other portable plumbing resources that are used to support relief workers and evacuees.  We stock a wide-ranging inventory of environmental decontamination (decon) trailers, portable restroom units, mobile hand-washing stations, laundry trailers, and more. If you are involved in the important work of emergency management or disaster relief, and you would like to learn more about the full suite of shower trailers and portable plumbing resources that PRT offers, get in touch with us today.  Give us a call at (877) 600-8645, or request a quote online.

Helping Portland’s Homeless with a Portable Shower Trailer

Over the years, we have supplied restroom trailers and shower trailers to some very admirable causes across America.  We’ve worked with disaster response organizations, poverty outreach organizations, and many more.  Recently, we helped a unique organization that is doing some very important work in Portland, Oregon.  We enjoyed learning about their organization, and we were happy to supply a shower trailer that will help them carry out their mission over the coming winter.Transition Projects was founded in 1969 when a reverend by the name of Gilbert Lulay began leasing a hotel in downtown Portland and offering its 20 rooms to men who had no safe place to sleep for the night.  Over the years since that time, the project has grown exponentially in size and scope.  Today, it is a shining example of innovation and follow-through in the effort to relieve the growing problem of homelessness in America.[caption id="" align="alignright" width="450"] "Conditions at our shelter will be humane over the winter thanks to your help!" -- Ryan Dunk | Transition Projects[/caption]How Transition Projects Leads the Way in PortlandIn 2017, Transition Projects operates seven separate emergency shelters around the city of Portland, with the combined capacity to house more than 800 people.  One shelter is dedicated for single men; one is dedicated for single women; three are open to men, women, and couples; and two open only for severe weather when the temperature drops below twenty-five degrees. The organization has a day center that administers various critical services for people experiencing homelessness.  At the Transition Project Day Center, individuals can get access to basic health and wellness services; they can get access to mail and computer services; and they can access hygiene services including laundry, showers, haircuts, and more.Transition Project offers special services for veterans.  And they engage in advocacy for various disadvantaged groups that are at-risk for homelessness and other problems.  The organization employs a very small staff to accomplish all of this amazing work, relying on volunteers for the majority of their shelter and outreach services.Helping the Homeless Transition to Hopeful New BeginningsProbably the most important aspect of Transition Project’s work is that all of their efforts are focused on ending the problem of homelessness for those who are currently experiencing it.  They help homeless people find jobs and housing to permanently turn their own situations around.  Transition Projects tries to build a relationship with everyone it reaches through its various services.  As the relationship with an individual grows stronger, the individual receives opportunities to begin transitioning away from homelessness. The first step is the organization’s short term residential program.  Three separate facilities offer short-term housing, where individuals can take up residence if they abstain from drugs and alcohol.  Long-term housing is available in two separate apartment buildings – one for men and one for women.  Transition Projects then provides financial assistance and job placement services for individuals who are ready to move back into their own apartments outside of the program. At each step along the way, mentorship services are available.  People who are working their way through the program are put in contact with individuals who have successfully transitioned away from homelessness, who can relate to the individual’s circumstances and provide support and encouragement along the way.The Difference One Shower Trailer Can MakeWhen Transition Projects reached out to us recently to discuss the acquisition of a new portable shower trailer, we were excited to get involved.  The organization needed to expand its capacity for fresh showers at one of its shelters.  Their philosophy that one can maintain one’s dignity and hygiene during times of adversity rings true to our ears, and everyone here at PRT was excited to help with the organization’s unique and important mission. The Comfort Series 3-stall combination shower trailer that Transition Projects selected provides all the comforts and amenities that you would expect from a traditional brick-and-mortar bathroom.  Each of the three stalls is divided into two compartments.  The first compartment contains an authentic china toilet with working plumbing, and a small corner-mounted vanity with a sink and a shatterproof glass mirror.Separated by a privacy curtain, the second compartment contains a comfortable full-size shower stall.  Hot water is available on-demand at all times, thanks to the unit’s tankless gas water heater.  And the entire shower trailer is kept at a comfortable temperature year-round by a roof-mounted 13.5 BTU air conditioner and a series of integrated heat strips.PRT’s Inventory of Shower Trailers, Hand-Washing Stations, and MoreOur inventory of portable sanitary resources includes a wide array of shower trailers in sizes ranging from two stalls all the way up to ten stalls.  In addition to shower trailers, we also offer mobile hand-washing stations, environmental decontamination trailers, restroom trailers, laundry trailers, and more.  Most of our inventory is available with a range of finishes and options – from tough commercial-grade units to luxurious executive units. We have several flexible financing options to choose from.  We offer short-term and long-term rental agreements.  And our popular lease-to-own program means that any organization can acquire a new or used shower trailer without making a significant cash outlay at the time of purchase.  If you are on the market for a portable restroom trailer or shower trailer, get in touch with PRT today.  We will help you evaluate your options and find a solution that fits your organization’s needs and budget.

Sympathy for Our Wine Country Restroom Rentals Clients

For more than a decade, the California wine country has been home to some of PRT’s most loyal and important clients for portable restroom rentals.  Today, we’d like to take a few minutes to send out our heartfelt care condolence for all our friends in the area who have been affected by this month’s devastating wildfires. The death toll from this month’s fires currently stands at 42 people – with that number expected to rise as authorities enter fire scorched areas that have been inaccessible for weeks.  We aren’t aware of any deaths in our community of clients for our restroom rentals services.  We do know that some have experienced losses among their friends and families – and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this challenging time.  Economic damages are estimated to be nearing $1 billion across the state, with a large part of those damages occurring in the wine country.PRT’s Longstanding Relationship with the California Wine CountryWe have partnered with wineries throughout the region for years to facilitate their growth with luxury portable restroom rentals.  Over time we have built many strong relationships in this part of the country.  When a winery reaches a limit in event attendance, they often reach out to PRT to discuss options for expanding their capacity and meeting local regulation requirements with luxury restroom rentals. We have more than 50 clients in the wine country, and we have greatly appreciated their support and partnership over the years.  Now, as the difficult process of rebuilding their businesses begins, we are looking forward to returning that support and providing our signature personal care to each of them as they clean up and carry on.In addition to claiming lives, structures, and entire estates – these fires will also take a heavy toll on California’s wine production for years to come.  After speaking to our clients, we know that some of this year’s crops have been completely destroyed.  Others remain intact but have been damaged by heat and will not be useful for wine production.  And, more importantly, the carefully cultivated soil of the region has been badly damaged and will likely take years to return to its previous quality.Checking in with our Restroom Rentals Clientele in California Our friends at Paradise Ridge Winery in Sonoma County suffered a devastating blow last week when the Tubbs fire burned their primary buildings to the ground.  Their winemaking facility, tasting room, and primary event center were all casualties of overnight blazes that left their entire business in ashes.  We understand that the Byck family has committed to rebuilding, and we look forward to supporting them in any way we can.The Tubbs fire also threatened our friends at Meadowood Napa Valley.  Operations were suspended last week as the smoke that filled the valley presented a health hazard for guests.  We were pleased to hear that the fire spared Meadowood’s grounds.  The owners reopened their doors on the morning of Friday October 20th, while sharing their support for the valley’s “Spend It, Don’t Send It” campaign, which asks supporters to come back and visit the area’s wineries in person rather than mailing in donations.Just before the fires broke out, Meadowood contacted PRT to arrange delivery for a brand new high-capacity luxury unit.  The custom Sierra Series unit we put together for them has an ADA-compliant suite built to California standards, with a 4-season climate control.  We’re holding the unit in our inventory until the winery’s ownership is ready to receive it; and we’ll be happy to assist in any way we can as they put the fire behind them and move forward with their business.Updates from other clients in the area continue to pour in each day.  And we’re actively reaching out to our restroom rentals accounts in Sonoma Valley and the Santa Rosa area to check on their status and wellbeing.Moving Forward with Hope and DeterminationSince the fires began, the team here at PRT has been consistently impressed by the tone of hope and determination that we’ve heard from our friends in California’s wine country.  We’re all proud to be associated with the perseverant and positive attitude that is taking shape as the fires begin to be contained. We will continue to reach out to our friends in the region, hoping for good news and positive outcomes on each call we make.  And we’ll be standing by to support our friends and partners in the wine country as they pick up the pieces and begin process of restoring their businesses and their lives.

Helping Those in Need with a Portable Shower Trailer Rental

A truly unique and inspired client contacted us to discuss a portable shower trailer rental.  At Portable Restroom Trailers, LLC, our clients are typically private companies who are acquiring a trailer to support their business operations.  A  big exception, however, is when it comes to our inventory of disaster response trailers. When we are helping clients with disaster response trailers, we work with government agencies, or  “mega churches,” and small local volunteer organizations– some of which are truly amazing.  This organization is a perfect example of a group going above and beyond for the community, and we are happy to be able to support the important work that they are doing.Answering a Calling through a Mission on WheelsThe mission of this group, called Mission on Wheels,  is to provide mobile resources to nonprofit and government organizations, bolstering response capabilities as a result of natural disasters.  They provide important tools that support the safety and success of relief and response efforts in the wake of floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornados.  When there is no disaster to respond to, their fleet is kept in service through community outreach to homeless populations and others facing economic hardship. The group maintains a fleet of mobile resources including portable shower trailers, mobile bunk houses, portable electric generators, and more.  When the fleet is deployed, the group rolls out with multiple trucks towing an assortment of critical mobile resources.  They head straight into the disaster zone to support the first responders and volunteers who are operating to save lives and salvage property.  What is the most impressive aspect of the operation?  They provide these services free of charge! The organization is supported entirely by donations.  They do not take money from the government– their funding comes from private donations from individuals, companies, foundations, and church congregations.  They have been doing this work and building their fleet for more than seven years – and the group’s leadership does not draw a salary either.  More than 90% of their budget goes directly to operations, with the remainder covering volunteer training, fundraising materials, and administrative costs.Responding to Hurricane Harvey in HoustonThe organization is based out of a small town about one hour northwest of downtown Houston – so they had their work cut out for them when Hurricane Harvey submerged much of that city under several feet of water late last month.  They began deploying their assets immediately, and by the time the storm cleared they were in full operation with assets throughout the Texas coastal bend.Mission on Wheels  provided sleeping arrangements and freshwater showers to the first responders who were busy doing water rescues in Rockport.  They provided showers to the clean-up crews in Ingleside.  They provided sleeping quarters and showers to aid workers in Aransas Pass.  Wherever people were helping the response effort, this group was there – supporting the helpers.Needless to say, we are grateful our portable shower trailer rental units play a small part in the important work that this group is doing.PRT’s Portable Shower Trailer Rental UnitsFirst responders and clean-up crews are in constant contact with toxic chemicals and infectious diseases when they wade out into contaminated floodwater.  While it might sound like a luxury, getting workers clean at the end of a shift is critical to the success of any disaster response effort.  Portable shower trailer rental units are a perfect solution to this problem – delivering hot showers directly to the operation site. The portable shower trailer rental units runs from small two-station shower trailers all the way up to large 36-foot trailers with 10 separate shower stalls.  Also available are combination shower trailers that include full-service restroom suites, decontamination trailers with tightly controlled air and water filtration systems, and dedicated hand-washing trailers.  Additionally,  portable laundry trailers that deliver all the functionality of an entire laundry room can be placed directly at the disaster zone.Flexible Financing for Portable Shower Trailer Rental UnitsVarious flexible financing options are a perfect complement to the wide-ranging inventory of portable shower trailer rental units.  With several options to choose from, almost any client can find an option that suits their needs – well within their budget. Both short-term and long-term rental agreements are available.  There is competitive financing for new and used purchases.  The lease-to-own program has become very popular because it allows organizations of any size to acquire valuable new equipment right away without the need for a major cash outlay that may not be in their current operating budget. If you would like to learn more about arranging a portable shower trailer rental with PRT, give us a call today at (877) 600-8645.  One of our trained representatives will guide you through our extensive inventory and help you to evaluate our various financing options to find the perfect solution for your unique requirements.
