Timing and Impacts of Tropical Storm Cindy As of Wednesday evening, the largest flood potential will be located in western Florida, southern Mississippi, southern Alabama, and southern Louisiana. Thursday and Friday, expect heavy rain along the Gulf Coast as the storm begins to spread east and north ahead of a cold front coming in from the Midwest. High-risk rip currents are also likely along portions of the Gulf Coast. Expect high surf and coastal floods. Isolated tornadoes are expected through Thursday evening from southern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle.

A massive wildfire is roaring through Gatlinburg, Tennessee leaving a wake of charred destruction in its path. Many resorts, including the Westgate Resorts have been almost completely destroyed. Many the 763-room Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa which has more than 100 buildings, has been caught in the fire. Westgate owns two other resorts in the area, as well: the River Terrace Resort & Convention Center and the Wild Bear Inn. Make sure in an alcove or the most secure area try not to have it under trees and as close to a building as possible or an alcove (something that would block the wind) Think of it as a gigantic sail.
