Restroom Trailer Tips & Education

Portable Restroom Trailers Make A Trip To Hawaii

Not only are portable restroom trailers great for renting or leasing, but they’re also a practical purchase for businesses and organizations that might use them for a long term facility solution. Depending on how long the facility needs it for, oftentimes it turns out that it is more cost effective to purchase the restroom trailer rather than lease it long term. And because they are so durable and long lasting, previously owned trailers are frequently purchased. For example, Portable Restroom Trailers just sold and shipped five used trailers to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii. The center purchased 2 ADA + 6 unit trailers, as well as 3- 12 unit trailers so that their guests would be able to easily find and safely use a portable restroom on their journeys through the island nations of Polynesia. This island attraction gives guests a native experience of the Polynesian islands such as Samoa, Fiji, and Hawaii to name a few. Some of the activities on the adventure include tree climbing, fire making, spear throwing, cooking, canoe races, and much, much more. Once the day is over, the evening can be topped off with an exciting show, featuring over 100 Polynesian natives. With so much to do and so many guests, it’s essential for the park to provide a private, clean, enjoyable bathroom environment that is efficient and long lasting. Whether it’s on the Mainland or an island, used or brand new, a portable restroom trailer will create a win-win for both the owner and the guests…peace and happiness.

Portable Restroom Trailers Remembers Thanksgiving Memories

One of the most memorable activities as a kid during the holiday season was watching all the special TV shows that come on during the week leading to Thanksgiving Day. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving would come on a few days before, Thanksgiving morning the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade would be on, and in the afternoon, football would take over. For kids, it’s exciting. Holidays mean staying up late, watching special shows on TV, eating lots of different food, and seeing family that have been away. For adults, nothing really changes. It still means shopping, playing, talking, and laughing. For some it means giving our time and serving others, while some may receive the benefit of being served. The things that we cherish most, however, are the lifetime of memories that come from family and friends gathering together. This is the time of year where we take a step back to reflect and give thanks for everything we have. It’s a great opportunity to teach the little ones about tradition, change, humility, and thankfulness. To all of you, from Portable Restroom Trailers, we wish you a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! We appreciate and thank you for all you do for us.

Tis the Season for Tailgating!

‘Tis the season for tailgating! We’re in the middle of football season and tailgating is one of the most popular ways to celebrate, eat, drink, and of course, show off. As one article puts it, “It’s an all-day ritual- a divine potluck of a family reunion, cocktail hour, and fashion show that keeps us coming back year after year, decade after decade, to the same sun-drenched fields.”Whether you live in the north, south, east, or west, tailgating is a tradition that happens everywhere, though, there are regional differences as to what kind of games are more popular for tailgating at. Generally speaking, the professional games are where the tailgaters show up in the Northern Midwest and Northeast. But all along the Southern region, college games are where it’s serious. There, you have tailgaters that may or may not even have tickets. For them, it’s no big deal...they come equipped with tents, TVs, chairs, and plenty of food and drinks. They have a “private party”, all while hearing the live cheers and jeers from inside the stadium. What more could you ask for?The only other thing you might need is a bathroom. Most stadiums place porta potties throughout the grounds. Portable restroom trailers might be a safer, cleaner option, but mostly what are available are the standard single standing porta potties. Just make sure you bring with you a container of sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. Oh, and you might also want to consider bringing your own toilet paper. With all that food you’ll be eating, it’s inevitable that you’ll be making at least one trip to the portable toilet. And you don’t want to get stuck in a portable bathroom that is out of paper...that’s just bad luck, and you don’t want to go there on game day!

It's True, Bathrooms Matter To Us!

Whether they’re public or private, permanent or temporary, restrooms matter to us. We place a lot of value in a nice, clean, fresh bathroom. Let’s be honest here…how many times have you gone in a bathroom and looked around to see how it’s maintained- if the sink is clean and dry, if there’s toilet paper, and if the toilet is clean both inside and out? Not only do we care about the cleanliness, but we also care about how it makes us feel. Do we feel pampered, does it make us feel comfortable, or does it make us want to hurry out of there? This applies to restrooms in a restaurant, a large corporate building, or even portable restrooms. In reality, we feel more inclined and comfortable to go in a bathroom that is pleasing to our senses. Many portable restroom trailers, in fact, are designed with a theme. There are some portable bathrooms that have a beach theme which uses soft neutral tones so that you can incorporate colorful “beach” decorations to create a nice but playful environment. On the other hand, there are elegantly themed restroom trailers for more formal events that include marble or granite style counter tops, china toilets, and even a fireplace. Now, who wouldn’t want to go in there! Essentially, a desirable bathroom of any type is one that is well kept. If we take the time to clean it, stock it with necessities, and create an inviting and appealing environment, visitors will have peace of mind and the confidence to return. It is what we make it!

Decorated Porta Potty Races?

Have you ever seen a decorated porta potty rolling down the street??For most of us, the answer is “no” and even the idea is outrageous. But to the residents of Iowa, the experience is not unusual. Every year at the Iowa State Fair there is a competition that involves portable toilets and decorations…it’s called the Outhouse Races. In order to race, you must customize and create your own “outhouse”. It has to have a half door, resembling a real outhouse, and must have a toilet seat over the “throne hole” for the rider. Each team must include four people, a team captain, two to push, and one to ride/steer.Not only is it a race, but it’s an obstacle race! There are two obstacles that the team and portable potty must encounter and successfully maneuver through to get to the finish line. Once all the teams have competed, awards are given to the first, second, third place teams, as well as to the team with the best house. As crazy as this event sounds, it seems like one of the most entertaining and amusing competitions to watch, and probably even more hysterical for those participating!Who knew?!? There are so many more uses for portable toilets than just the “normal” practical purposes!
