CDC Throws Cold Water on Fighting the Flu - Portable Restroom Rentals Takes Note

No Hot Water to Wash Hands? CDC Says, “That’s Okay”. Portable Restroom Rentals is prepared to cover you with or without hot water, your preference.Cold and Flu season is upon us, and the CDC has specific hand-washing guidelines to help you avoid getting sick this winter season. (80% of all infectious diseases are transmitted by hands!) But you might be surprised by the temperature of water they suggest to use. Handwashing Research and PerceptionA research study surveyed 510 adults asking questions about hand washing perceptions and habits. People were asked how often they wash their hands and how long they washed their hands. According to the published report, "70% of respondents said they believe that using hot water is more effective than warm, room temperature, or cold water, despite a lack of evidence to back that up.  The research showed a, "strong cognitive connection between water temperature and hygiene in both the United States and Western Europe."So while many believe hot water is more effective for hand washing the study actually concluded, "the temperature of water used is not related to how well pathogens are eliminated during the process."Interestingly if you look at the official guidelines for hand washing from the CDC and WHO, both do not actually specify a water temperature.  They do recommend using soap and water and scrubbing using proper technique for at least 20-seconds, followed by drying hands thoroughly.Despite the research there is still a lot of confusion as some public health organizations still recommend, "elevated water temperature."  The FDA Food Code for example, which is a model used to enforce health standards in restaurants recommends the, "hand washing sink be equipped to provide water at a temperature of at least 100°F or 38°C."One food service worker recently commented, "I have come across a food safety consultant who insisted that the temperature should be 60°C (140°F).  Observations revealed that staff proceeded to use cold water saying hot water was too hot!  Microbiological swabbing of hands revealed an increase in Campylobacter, E.coli and Listeria counts on hands that were washed in basins when very hot water was demanded by the consultant, compared to hands exposed to water at 40 to 45 °C."Hot Water Heaters and Portable Restroom TrailersSo, we know that you don’t need hot water to effectively wash your hands. No Carey and No Bathrooms for New Year's Eve Celebration New York’s Time Square

Portable Restroom Rentals can handle this Gig!The New Year’s Eve Celebration in New York’s Time Square is iconic, but with no restroom facilities, visitors have had to get creative. With the recent nightclub attack in Istanbul, to say security was tight is an understatement. Tightened security is understandable, but no restrooms? Is this even legal, healthy, or sanitary? Portable Restroom Rentals is the solution![caption id="" align="alignright" width="577"] Photograph: Courtesy Countdown Entertainment[/caption]New Year's Eve in Times SquareThis New Year’s Eve, Times Square was filled with block-long security pens starting at 42nd Street and stretching to 48th street. By noon Thursday, the 45th street and 46th street pens were close to full. Entry to the pens required passage through a security checkpoint and metal detector wand inspection. Backpacks were prohibited but occupants could bring in items in clear plastic bags. The security measures make Times Square "look like some type of quarantine," according to attendee Jay Bulock, 32.Fans lined up for hours to get into the festivities and once they were in, they would not be allowed re-entry if needed to “relieve” themselves. Party goers restricted their liquid intake, and even wore adult diapers as a last resort. By the time the ball dropped, some had been in the pens for 19 hours! For Jamie Bethel, 38, a South Carolina nursing student and one of the two million attendees (many needing the restroom), New Year’s Eve in New York City has lived up to the hype.“I always used to see it every year on TV. It looked so fun I wanted to come down,” she said. “It’s exactly as I pictured it. Good music and it feels like I’m at a party. If I had a bathroom, I’d be set.”Portable Restroom Rentals is the solution! From large commercial units to smaller compact units, strategically placed around the event. Portable Restroom Rentals are our specialty and includes ADA Compliant units. Units are available with self-contained waste tank or connected direct to sewer, allowing us to handle most crowds. Portable Restroom Rentals Keep Construction Workers Moving

Construction is an important part of business and growth. Also important is that the construction workers are well taken care of so they can perform at their best. Part of taking care of the workers includes the most basic necessity: clean and attractive restroom facilities with flushable toilets and running water to wash hands. Portable Restroom Trailers, LLC supports construction growth with portable restroom rentals. The ChallengeConstruction workers were ready to begin work on the Arizona Energy Plant. Since this was to be a year-long project, their first task was planned to be building a brick and mortar bathroom facility. Wisely, the general contractors involved in this project assumed the construction workers would be more productive with access to clean flushable toilets and running water to wash their hands. The state of Arizona, however, had other plans. The construction company was not allowed to build the much needed bathroom facility because the site was considered restricted. Until they had some way for their construction workers to take bathroom breaks, work on this Arizona project could not begin. That’s when they called us.The SolutionThanks to efforts already underway, the site had access to a supply of running water. This made it easy for us to bring portable restroom rentals on site within a week of their initial contact. Due to the warm climate, and workforce quantity, we provided construction workers with a Luxury Key West 5-Station portable restroom. This spacious trailer is divided into two suites. The female suite consists of two bathroom stalls with pedal flush toilets, counter with full vanity mirror and elegant soap, sink and toilet paper fixtures. The male suite has two urinals with privacy dividers and one stall with full length locking door. In addition, this trailer comes stocked with soap, toilet paper, paper towels and waste basket liners.Despite the short notice and long-term need, we were able to provide the construction workers at Arizona Energy Plant with the solution they needed – and do it quickly. If the construction project winds up taking longer than the planned year, we can easily extend the lease on their portable restroom rental. Our fast response with a long-term solution meant this construction project was able to move forward without much loss of time or productivity. The general contractors, construction workers, and Arizona Energy Plant were all incredibly pleased with this result. What challenges is your company currently facing?
