Portable Bathrooms for Comcast

PRT has the privilege of working with companies located all over the country, and this allows us to work with a variety of teams. One of our favorite things to see is a company that cares. This means that they go above and beyond to ensure that their staff is happy, taken care of, and has the amenities they need to feel comfortable and succeed at work. This often includes clean, comfortable and accessible restrooms. Our portable bathrooms play a small but necessary role in company culture, ensuring that businesses can provide facilities when needed.

We recently got to partner with Comcast, a huge media company that has helped to change the way we communicate and do business. This company not only takes the time to care for its many customers, but prioritizes its staff just as much. Read a little bit about the company and the work they enjoy doing with the community:

“Our Company’s culture is built on integrity and respect—with the goal of working together to drive ourselves and our businesses to always be creative, innovative, and competitive. We are guided by:

An entrepreneurial spirit.

We embrace good ideas and bring them to life quickly. We’re forward-looking and restless in looking for new ways to innovate for our customers.

Doing the right thing and acting with integrity.

It’s as simple as doing what’s right and treating people the right way.

Respect for each other.

We are committed to a culture of fairness, respect, and inclusion: within our leadership and our workforce, with our customers and suppliers, in our programming, and in the communities we serve.

Giving back.

We have a long history of supporting local communities and organizations wherever we do business. We use our voice, resources, and reach to create positive and substantive change in people’s lives in our communities.

Since the founding of Comcast in 1963, our core values have been rooted in improving the communities where our employees, customers, and audiences live and work. As we have evolved to become a global media and technology company, our values live on through our culture. We have a rich tradition of giving back and ensuring our employees have the opportunity to serve their communities. And through our products, technology, and entertainment experiences, and especially through our employees, we continually seek new and better ways to make a positive difference and do what’s right for our customers, our viewers, and our world.”

We are always happy to support companies like these. They aim to ensure their staff is successful and even take steps to make a positive impact on the rest of the world. They came to us needing unique portable bathrooms and we were excited to assist.

A Solution with Portable Bathrooms

Comcast has to ensure that their staff, no matter where they work, is well taken care of. This includes comfortable and accessible bathrooms. They have a vast and diverse number of employees working all over the country, so when one of their many locations needed portable bathrooms, they came to us.

 7 station combo oahu

After hearing their many needs, we suggested the 7 Station Restroom Combo with Laundry. This is truly a one-stop shop for all of your washroom needs! Measuring 34 feet, this large portable bathroom is fully equipped to handle a wide variety of jobs. With a 1200 gallon waste tank and 225 gallon fresh water tank, this trailer is built for heavy loads.

Like many of our portable bathrooms, this option is built to last with a scratch- and dent-proof exterior. Sturdy aluminum steps lead up to this portable bathroom and the porch is well-lit for safe access no matter what time, day or night.

When we say one-stop shop, we mean it! As you enter this unit, you’ll find showers, toilets, and laundry stations. The bathroom suite contains two toilets with mirrors and sink vanities. The shower suite is equipped with 4 stalls, each having a fold-down stool for those who need it. The laundry suite has a stackable Speedqueen washer and dryer, allowing the trailer owner to change and adapt this room as needed.

In addition to all of this, this portable restroom finishes with an option to add either 42 stackable half lockers or 21 full lockers.

These portable bathrooms are the perfect solution for employees who need restroom and laundry access while on the job.

Improve Operations with the Smarter Restrooms App

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of purchasing portable bathrooms with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each portable bathroom trailer unit comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit to be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep restroom rentals operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable bathroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water

heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own restroom rentals to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable bathroom trailer renters and owners can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

Winterize Your Portable Toilets

winter portable bathrooms

Spring may be upon us, but some of us are still experiencing those extreme winter temperatures. Here at PRT, we aim to ensure that all of our clients have the tips and tools they need to ensure that their portable bathrooms stay operating and well maintained for years to come.

For those who experience extreme weather conditions, we know how hard it can get to maintain your restroom trailer. Maintenance issues are bound to arise: what if your water freezes? What if the hose gets clogged by ice? How do you keep your restroom guests comfortable during use?

These are all thoughts we’ve had when thinking about how to continue to improve our product. We want you to have the highest quality experience possible after your purchase. When it comes to cold weather, note these tips to ensure your restroom trailers stay functioning and keep that high quality for long periods of time.

PROTECT YOUR WATER SUPPLY

  1. Wrap heat tape around a ¾” garden hose. Use duct tape to hold it in place, about every 12 inches.
  2. Put foam tube insulation around the hose and heat tape. Leave the plugs and power lights uncovered.
  3. Run duct tape down the insulation, leaving the connecting ends, plugs and power lights uncovered. If you cover them, you will not be able to connect the water or power. Leave test lights and power lights uncovered (for testing and to be sure the hose remains working).

CREATE A BOX

  1. Place two 1500-watt electric heaters under the unit. Be sure you have sufficient power!
  2. Build a 2×2 or 2×4 wood frame to fit underneath each side of the unit. This is going to box the bottom of the outside of the unit.
  3. Fill any gaps with insulation
  4. Cut ½” plywood to fit frame for each side. Be sure to consider stairs when cutting your wood. Stairs should be out and in place before measuring.
  5. Measure and cut out a 6”x6” square to cover the drain access. Attach this with hinges so you can access the drain when needed. This will protect drain valve from freezing.
  6. Eliminate gaps and holes on the tongue side of the unit with R-13 (or greater) insulation.
  7. Staple insulation inside the wood box
  8. Cut a piece of insulation in half and lay it on the ground where the box will be placed. This eliminates gaps between the wood and the ground.

AFTER PLYWOOD IS ATTACHED

  1. Fill any small gaps on the top and bottom of the box with insulation
  2. Staple bubble wrap around the outside of the wood unit. This closes of gaps and keeps cold air out and heat in.
  3. Use electrical tape to cover plug connections that will remain outside.

FOR UNITS NOT IN USE FOR THE WINTER

Eliminate the use of power and water until the unit is ready to be used again.

  1. Drain water from all the lines.
  2. Add non-toxic RV “Pink Water System” antifreeze
  3. Unplug

These steps will not only keep your purchased or rental equipment operating smoothly during cold weather seasons, but help with overall maintenance  and long-term operations as well. Follow these simple tips and your restroom trailers will maintain their quality for a long time coming!
