Portable Restroom Rentals for Comcast Emergency Response Team

As a regular supplier of emergency portable restroom rentals, we often get to work with leaders in the first response, emergency and relief industries. One of these teams is the Comcast Emergency Response. Without them, many communities, teams, and first responders would not be able to communicate during emergency situations.

The Comcast emergency response team is responsible for a collection of tasks that many of us don’t hear about day-to-day. Read a little bit about what they do and how you can use this tool:

Enhanced 911, or E911, is just like regular 911 except that your telephone number and location are automatically transmitted to the operator during the call. Here are the steps you need to take to support trouble-free 911 access:

Keep your address up to date

In order for your 911 calls to be properly directed to emergency services, Comcast must have your correct service address. If you move your Comcast Business Voice or VoiceEdge Select service to a different address without notifying us, 911 calls may be directed to the wrong emergency authority or may transmit the wrong address.

Prior to changing your office address, please call 1-800-391-3000 and notify Comcast of your new address. It will take several business days to update your service address in the 911 system.

Be prepared in case of outages or technical problems

The embedded multimedia terminal adapter (eMTA) that is included with your Comcast Business Voice service combines delivery of high-speed data with voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services by connecting regular, non-IP telephones and terminal equipment (like a fax machine) to the Comcast managed network.

Comcast Comcast Business Voice service uses the electrical power in your building. If there is a power outage and the battery backup in your eMTA is not installed, fails or is exhausted after several hours, you may not be able to call 911.

Keep in mind, you may not be able to make calls (including calls to 911) if there is a problem with network facilities such as: network congestion, network/equipment/power failure, or other technical issues.

Comcast Business Voice services and alarm systems

Fire alarms

Comcast Business Voice service supports connections to fire alarm systems. However, some fire alarm providers have not approved the use of new technologies, such as VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) service with their systems. Check to be sure that your fire alarm system is compatible. If your fire alarm system is not compatible with IP telephony, you may consider having a phone line with traditional service integrated with your fire alarm system for use in an emergency.

Security systems/alarm service providers

Many customers use Comcast Business Voice service to support their alarm systems; however, you should check with your alarm system provider to make sure that they have no issues with VoIP connections.

The comcast emergency response team in West Palm Beach, FL needed portable restroom rentals and looked to us for options. We were happy to assist.

Temporary Solutions with Portable Restroom Rentals

After hearing about the needs of the Comcast team, we were quick to supply an option that would work for them. They needed one of our portable restroom rentals that could provide restroom and shower relief for the onsite team.

The portable restroom rental we provided them with was the 3 Stall Combo Restroom Portable Shower Trailer, Cabo Series. This compact restroom environment measures 16 feet and has a 300 gallon waste tank and 125 gallon freshwater tank, ideal for a moderate amount of daily use. The exterior shows off a clean design and guests are welcomed into the trailer on sturdy, aluminum steps with rails for safety.

The walls and ceiling are insulated to ensure that the interior temperature stays comfortable despite outside weather. Additionally, this shower trailer comes with air conditioning and heat strips to further influence the inner temperature, allowing for restroom managers to alter the temp levels depending on needs.

Each unisex bathroom is equipped with water saving, flushable china toilets, a sink vanity with mirror, and shower stall. An earth-tone interior design scheme adds to the luxurious atmosphere that guests will experience during use. The nonslip floor ensures that all can use the shower safely, making this restroom and shower trailer rental a perfect combination of high end and durable.

Abundant porch lighting ensures that access is easy no matter what time of day or night. To further add to the comfortable experience, we ensure that this portable restroom rental is equipped with a tankless on demand water heater. No need to worry about guests having no hot water: this unit ensures that a comfortable water temp is always available.

The entire portable restroom rental also features air conditioning and heat strips in order to maintain a comfortable interior temperature no matter what outside weather may be like. These strips can easily increase or decrease the temperature of the unit when necessary, ensuring that guests have a comfortable experience.

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of renting or purchasing a restroom rental with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. Our goal is to make your job as a fleet manager easier, and this disruptive technology can do just that. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each portable bathroom trailer unit comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit will be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep restroom rentals operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable bathroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own restroom rentals to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable bathroom trailer owners can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

Winterize Your Long-Term Rentals

Winter portable restrooms for rent

For those who experience extreme weather conditions, we know how hard it can get to maintain your restroom trailer. Maintenance issues are bound to arise: what if your water freezes? What if the hose gets clogged by ice? How do you keep your restroom guests comfortable during use?

These are all thoughts we’ve had when thinking about how to continue to improve our product. We want you to have the highest quality experience possible after your purchase. When it comes to cold weather, note these tips to ensure your restroom trailers stay functioning and keep that high quality for long periods of time.

PROTECT YOUR WATER SUPPLY

  1. Wrap heat tape around a ¾” garden hose. Use duct tape to hold it in place, about every 12 inches.
  2. Put foam tube insulation around the hose and heat tape. Leave the plugs and power lights uncovered.
  3. Run duct tape down the insulation, leaving the connecting ends, plugs and power lights uncovered. If you cover them, you will not be able to connect the water or power. Leave test lights and power lights uncovered (for testing and to be sure the hose remains working).

CREATE A BOX

  1. Place two 1500-watt electric heaters under the unit. Be sure you have sufficient power!
  2. Build a 2×2 or 2×4 wood frame to fit underneath each side of the unit. This is going to box the bottom of the outside of the unit.
  3. Fill any gaps with insulation
  4. Cut ½” plywood to fit frame for each side. Be sure to consider stairs when cutting your wood. Stairs should be out and in place before measuring.
  5. Measure and cut out a 6”x6” square to cover the drain access. Attach this with hinges so you can access the drain when needed. This will protect drain valve from freezing.
  6. Eliminate gaps and holes on the tongue side of the unit with R-13 (or greater) insulation.
  7. Staple insulation inside the wood box
  8. Cut a piece of insulation in half and lay it on the ground where the box will be placed. This eliminates gaps between the wood and the ground.

AFTER PLYWOOD IS ATTACHED

  1. Fill any small gaps on the top and bottom of the box with insulation
  2. Staple bubble wrap around the outside of the wood unit. This closes of gaps and keeps cold air out and heat in.
  3. Use electrical tape to cover plug connections that will remain outside.

FOR UNITS NOT IN USE FOR THE WINTER

Eliminate the use of power and water until the unit is ready to be used again.

  1. Drain water from all the lines.
  2. Add non-toxic RV “Pink Water System” antifreeze
  3. Unplug

Follow these simple tips and your long-term portable restroom rentals will maintain their quality for a long time coming!
