Emergency Restroom Trailer for SouthTec

When disaster strikes, companies must be prepared to act quickly. When the recent Tennessee tornado hit the town of Lebanon, many businesses small and large were affected. Buildings were ruined, plumbing and electricity was compromised, and many had to shut their doors for repairs. As businesses rebuild and some stay open during repairs, we come in with a restroom trailer that supports workers, staff, and guests as needed.

We recently partnered with Southtec, a member of the Autokiniton Global Group (AGG), to supply them with a restroom trailer as they worked on building repairs. Read a little bit more about AGG:

“We are a leading Tier1 automotive metals components and assemblies supplier. We focus on: Quality, Delivery, Operational Excellence, Launch Execution, and Customer Service.

We balance the needs of all of our stakeholders. We practice an entrepreneurial management style based on rapid decision making and speedy, successful execution. Our products are powertrain agnostic and offer advanced lightweighting solutions through hot stamping, tailor welded blanks and variable wall tubing technology.”

As this business rebuilds, they need to ensure that onsite workers, and staff have the necessary amenities to stay comfortable. That’s why they called us for a restroom trailer that would support the business.

Solutions with An Emergency Restroom Trailer

This company sees a high volume of employees during its recovery time and saw a need for a bathroom option that could comfortably service them at a frequent rate throughout the day. The company came to us and we were happy to provide them with some portable restroom trailer options.

Given the demographics of this company’s staff, which is comprised of mostly male workers, we suggested the 9/2 Male Dominant Trailer. This restroom trailer is unique in that it is outfitted with a larger male restroom suite and a smaller female suite, ensuring that a bathroom is available for those who need it.

11 station restroom trailer

This 29-foot long male dominant portable restroom trailer has an exterior designed for cleanliness and durability. It is fitted with a 200 gallon fresh water tank and 1150 gallon waste tank to allow for high volume use throughout the busy work day.The aluminum steps are sturdy and rails are added for safe and secure entry.

The female suite is fitted with two stalls with privacy walls, a sink, and shatter-proof mirror. The men’s suite has six stalls, three urinals, a triple-sink vanity and mirror. Each restroom has flushable china toilets, a paper towel dispenser, and hand dryer.

This restroom trailer has an elegantly designed black and white interior and ample lighting. Despite this being a trailer for basic staff use, the Male Dominant Trailer provides a truly upscale experience with its clean interior design, welcoming users into a high end bathroom experience. Despite its casual purpose, employees can count on an elevated restroom experience.

Each restroom suite has air conditioning and heat strips to ensure that the interior climate is always comfortable no matter what outside weather may be like. The restroom trailer also has insulated walls and ceiling to further maintain that comfortable interior temperature.

Improve Operations with the Smarter Restrooms App

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of renting and purchasing a restroom trailer with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each portable bathroom trailer unit comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit to be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep restroom rentals operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable bathroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own restroom rentals to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable bathroom trailer renters and owners can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

Winterize Your Portable Restrooms

winter restroom trailer

Spring may be upon us, but some of us are still experiencing those extreme winter temperatures. Here at PRT, we aim to ensure that all of our clients have the tips and tools they need to ensure that their portable bathrooms stay operating and well maintained for years to come.

For those who experience extreme weather conditions, we know how hard it can get to maintain your restroom trailer. Maintenance issues are bound to arise: what if your water freezes? What if the hose gets clogged by ice? How do you keep your restroom guests comfortable during use?

These are all thoughts we’ve had when thinking about how to continue to improve our product. We want you to have the highest quality experience possible after your purchase. When it comes to cold weather, note these tips to ensure your restroom trailers stay functioning and keep that high quality for long periods of time.

PROTECT YOUR WATER SUPPLY

  1. Wrap heat tape around a ¾” garden hose. Use duct tape to hold it in place, about every 12 inches.
  2. Put foam tube insulation around the hose and heat tape. Leave the plugs and power lights uncovered.
  3. Run duct tape down the insulation, leaving the connecting ends, plugs and power lights uncovered. If you cover them, you will not be able to connect the water or power. Leave test lights and power lights uncovered (for testing and to be sure the hose remains working).

CREATE A BOX

  1. Place two 1500-watt electric heaters under the unit. Be sure you have sufficient power!
  2. Build a 2×2 or 2×4 wood frame to fit underneath each side of the unit. This is going to box the bottom of the outside of the unit.
  3. Fill any gaps with insulation
  4. Cut ½” plywood to fit frame for each side. Be sure to consider stairs when cutting your wood. Stairs should be out and in place before measuring.
  5. Measure and cut out a 6”x6” square to cover the drain access. Attach this with hinges so you can access the drain when needed. This will protect drain valve from freezing.
  6. Eliminate gaps and holes on the tongue side of the unit with R-13 (or greater) insulation.
  7. Staple insulation inside the wood box
  8. Cut a piece of insulation in half and lay it on the ground where the box will be placed. This eliminates gaps between the wood and the ground.

AFTER PLYWOOD IS ATTACHED

  1. Fill any small gaps on the top and bottom of the box with insulation
  2. Staple bubble wrap around the outside of the wood unit. This closes of gaps and keeps cold air out and heat in.
  3. Use electrical tape to cover plug connections that will remain outside.

FOR UNITS NOT IN USE FOR THE WINTER

Eliminate the use of power and water until the unit is ready to be used again.

  1. Drain water from all the lines.
  2. Add non-toxic RV “Pink Water System” antifreeze
  3. Unplug

These steps will not only keep your purchased or rental equipment operating smoothly during cold weather seasons, but help with overall maintenance  and long-term operations as well. Follow these simple tips and your restroom trailers will maintain their quality for a long time coming!
