Portable Restroom Trailers for Municipal Governments
Portable restrooms may seem like a fairly predictable business, but here at PRT we regularly come across new and interesting applications for our inventory of portable restroom trailers.  Some of the most exciting applications we’ve found this season have come from municipal governments in cities and towns across the country. Over the years, we have supported many cities with portable restroom trailers for their parks, sports arenas, and even for critical disaster relief efforts.  But over the past few months we’ve worked with some municipal governments that are finding innovative uses for portable restrooms – and we’d like to share a few noteworthy examples with you today.

Park Model Portable Restroom Trailers for Seasonal Tourism Districts

Many cities have thriving entertainment districts in or near their downtown areas that experience a significant uptick in foot traffic during the spring and summer months.  While the existing public restrooms in the area may be sufficient on weekdays and during winter months, they frequently reach or exceed their capacity during the busy season.  A few cities that experience this type of seasonal problem have reached out to us recently to discuss potential solutions. The ideal solution would relieve the pressure on the existing brick and mortar restrooms in high-traffic areas, without requiring the complex planning and permitting and considerable investment associated with a new permanent structure.  It is also highly desirable for a temporary solution to hook up directly to the municipal sewer system and utility grids, to avoid maintenance issues on busy weekends. Portable Restroom Trailers for Municipal GovernmentsWe have helped several municipal governments to identify park model portable restroom trailers that match their specific requirements for durability, connectivity, and capacity.  Initial results suggest that the park model units are doing an excellent job of alleviating capacity issues, and we expect that some of our municipal customers will be expanding these seasonal programs next year.

High-Capacity Portable Restroom Trailers for Major Events

Portable restroom trailers can be an unexpected oasis of comfort and cleanliness at major municipal productions for holidays, festivals, and annual events.  They provide municipalities with a great alternative for ADA-compliant restrooms, family-friendly restrooms, VIP restrooms, and more.  Any attendee who is expecting an unpleasant port-a-potty will be quite pleased to find a safe, well-lit restroom with a flushing china toilet and a functional hot water sink to wash their hands. We have worked with several cities recently to outfit their annual spring events with portable restroom trailers.  Some cities use restroom trailers to supplement their traditional port-a-potties; and others rely on our portable restrooms as their primary solution – skipping the port-a-potty altogether. PRT offers a range of flexible financing options that includes something to accommodate any municipal application.  With short-term and long-term rental agreements and easy-approval credit – most of the cities we talk to are able to fit the resources they need in to their existing budgets.  And several cities have taken advantage of our popular lease-to-own program to acquire new assets without making a significant outlay of cash.

Supporting Safe and Sanitary Conditions within Homeless Communities

In some cities, homeless populations have grown at a staggering rate as economic conditions have changed in recent years.  One unanticipated consequence that several cities are facing is a sharp uptick in communicable diseases like hepatitis in homeless communities. Access to simple sanitary services like flushing toilets and hot water faucets can have a big impact on the spread of hepatitis and other diseases in these situations.  In 2017, some cities began circulating teams of medical crews to administer vaccinations in areas with high concentrations of homeless people. Portable restroom trailers support these efforts by providing an important measure of prevention to curb the spread of disease. In addition to providing units with comfortable and sanitary toilets, PRT can also provide other basic services like hand-washing stations, portable drinking fountains, shower trailers, and more.
