Restroom Trailers Goes to New Jersey
If you’ve driven through New Jersey, you’ve most likely driven on the Garden State Parkway. The Parkway is the main road used for transportation in New Jersey, which extends from the northern most tip to the southernmost tip. Because the Parkway is such a vital part of the state, there is usually construction going on to make it a better, safer road.  There are three construction projects that will be going on in 2014 on the Parkway.
One area of construction is in Bergen County at exit 163 off the Parkway.  This exit is for Route 17 and currently these exit ramps are on the left side of the highway. Beginning this year, construction will be done to move the exit ramps from the left side of the highway to the right side of the highway. Doing this will create more uniformity throughout the exits as well as realign the Parkway to the existing median.
The next site of construction is in Middlesex County at exit 125. A new waterfront development being built at this exit, but because of the increase in traffic to this new development and to Chevalier Avenue, new ramps will be added to the Parkway going northbound and southbound. The new ramps will allow full access to the area.
There is also some major construction in Atlantic County.  The first change is an addition of a deceleration lane going southbound on the Parkway. This will create a safer experience when exiting the Parkway. At exit 36, an acceleration lane will be added on Tilton Road which will allow for a safer entry onto the Parkway. Finally, at exits 37 and 38 for the Atlantic City Expressway, construction will separate traffic that is entering and exiting the Parkway.
Lastly, in Union, NJ at the Vauxhall Rest area, a restroom trailer will be provided for those traveling.  It is an eleven station portable restroom. This trailer has ten stalls, as well as three urinals, and is commercial grade. It is a great alternative to porta-potties because it is clean and efficient like permanent restrooms. This restroom trailer was also equipped with high traffic steps instead of the traditional trailer steps in order to accommodate the large number of travelers that will be using this restroom trailer.
