Savvy business owners and managers have learned the value of maintaining a positive work environment for employees. From work stations that have sitting and standing desks to fully stocked kitchens, nap nooks and game rooms, companies are truly going to great lengths for their employees. This is because employees that are happy at work tend to perform more effectively, improving the company and making sure goals are met with ease. For some industries, providing a shower option is necessary, and that’s why we designed our shower trailers.

Ensuring that employees are well taken care of also helps with retention. When people are happy at work, they are less likely to search the job market for something else. As work life continues to improve for all, we continue to look at ways to improve the office as well. This includes comfortable, efficient, and stylish restrooms with the occasional shower included. When brick-and-mortar locations don’t provide showers or worksites are not near those full restroom options, companies turn to us to supply shower trailers.

This was the case for Walmart. Their hard-working drivers travel hundreds of miles cross-country to ensure goods get delivered to stores. This is a tasking job, and the drivers’ comfort, safety, and well-being are top priority for store managers. When creating an offsite resting station for drivers, Walmart realized that showers would be a necessary addition to the location. They reached out to us to learn about affordable solutions with shower trailers.

A Quick Solution with Shower Trailers

After going over the needs for Walmart’s rest stops, we learned that both toilet and shower options were needed. They anticipated a medium volume of use and wanted to provide a comfortable, casual restroom experience.

After going through our inventory of shower trailers, we found that the 5 Station Combo, Comfort Series was the best fit. This compact restroom environment measures 28 feet and has a 600 gallon waste tank and 260 gallon freshwater tank, ideal for a moderate amount of daily use. The exterior shows off a clean design and guests are welcomed into the trailer on sturdy, aluminum steps with rails for safety.

The walls and ceiling are insulated to ensure that the interior temperature stays comfortable despite outside weather. Additionally, this shower trailer comes with air conditioning and heat strips to further influence the inner temperature, allowing for restroom managers to alter the temp levels depending on needs.

Each unisex bathroom is equipped with water saving, flushable china toilets, a sink vanity with mirror, and shower stall. The nonslip floor ensures that all can use the shower safely, making this restroom and shower trailer option a perfect combination of comfort and durability.

Abundant porch lighting ensures that access is easy no matter what time of day or night. To further add to the comfortable experience, we ensure that this portable shower and restroom trailer is equipped with a tankless on demand water heater. No need to worry about guests having no hot water: this unit ensures that a comfortable water temp is always available.

Overall, this is a shower trailer that is perfect for a company that needs a medium-sized unit, a special experience for guests, and a trailer that is durable.

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of renting or purchasing a restroom rental with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. Our goal is to make your job as a fleet manager easier, and this disruptive technology can do just that. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each portable bathroom trailer unit comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit will be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep restroom rentals operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable bathroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own restroom rentals to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable bathroom trailer owners can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

Winterize Your Shower Trailers

Winter portable restrooms for rent

For those who experience extreme weather conditions, we know how hard it can get to maintain your restroom trailer. Maintenance issues are bound to arise: what if your water freezes? What if the hose gets clogged by ice? How do you keep your restroom guests comfortable during use?

These are all thoughts we’ve had when thinking about how to continue to improve our product. We want you to have the highest quality experience possible after your purchase. When it comes to cold weather, note these tips to ensure your restroom trailers stay functioning and keep that high quality for long periods of time.

PROTECT YOUR WATER SUPPLY

  1. Wrap heat tape around a ¾” garden hose. Use duct tape to hold it in place, about every 12 inches.
  2. Put foam tube insulation around the hose and heat tape. Leave the plugs and power lights uncovered.
  3. Run duct tape down the insulation, leaving the connecting ends, plugs and power lights uncovered. If you cover them, you will not be able to connect the water or power. Leave test lights and power lights uncovered (for testing and to be sure the hose remains working).

CREATE A BOX

  1. Place two 1500-watt electric heaters under the unit. Be sure you have sufficient power!
  2. Build a 2×2 or 2×4 wood frame to fit underneath each side of the unit. This is going to box the bottom of the outside of the unit.
  3. Fill any gaps with insulation
  4. Cut ½” plywood to fit frame for each side. Be sure to consider stairs when cutting your wood. Stairs should be out and in place before measuring.
  5. Measure and cut out a 6”x6” square to cover the drain access. Attach this with hinges so you can access the drain when needed. This will protect drain valve from freezing.
  6. Eliminate gaps and holes on the tongue side of the unit with R-13 (or greater) insulation.
  7. Staple insulation inside the wood box
  8. Cut a piece of insulation in half and lay it on the ground where the box will be placed. This eliminates gaps between the wood and the ground.

AFTER PLYWOOD IS ATTACHED

  1. Fill any small gaps on the top and bottom of the box with insulation
  2. Staple bubble wrap around the outside of the wood unit. This closes of gaps and keeps cold air out and heat in.
  3. Use electrical tape to cover plug connections that will remain outside.

FOR UNITS NOT IN USE FOR THE WINTER

Eliminate the use of power and water until the unit is ready to be used again.

  1. Drain water from all the lines.
  2. Add non-toxic RV “Pink Water System” antifreeze
  3. Unplug

Follow these simple tips and your restroom trailers will maintain their quality for a long time coming!

Take Advantage of the Section 179 Tax Deduction

As business owners and entrepreneurs, we know that your number 1 goal is to save money and increase profit. You are always on the lookout for not only a great deal, but for short-term and long-term solutions that help you grow as a business. We know the feeling - here at Portable Restroom Trailers, we are always trying new strategies to keep that income in the green and rising.

As a nation founded on principles of individual success and making something great out of nothing, the government supplies a number of tools to help small businesses find their ground and grow. One of these tools is the Section 179 Deduction.

Under the Section 179 Deduction, you can earn a tax break by selling and buying now! This is a savings for all business owners that not many are aware of; there is no advantage in waiting to sell or buy new restroom trailers. If you wait until January 1, 2020, you may actually lose money!

Capitalize on great deals with our in-stock units to save on the total cost, and ensure delivery by December 31, 2019 to qualify for the section 179 deduction.

What is the Section 179 Deduction?

As stated on the IRS website:

“You can elect to recover all or part of the cost of certain qualifying property, up to a limit, by deducting it in the year you place the property in service. This is the section 179 deduction. You can elect the section 179 deduction instead of recovering the cost by taking depreciation deductions.”

Using the Section 179 tax code, you can deduct the full purchase price of any equipment which qualifies and is purchased or financed during the tax year in question. What this means is if you buy or lease equipment (like portable restroom trailers), it is possible to deduct the full purchase price from your gross income. By adding up your total equipment, software, and vehicles purchased for your business in 2017, you can write off or expense up to 100% of the cost of a portable restroom for purchase for up to $500,000, and then 50% of the remaining balance up to $2,000,000! Leveraging this deduction allows businesses to jump on what they need now instead of waiting over the next few years by only writing off the depreciation values. With industry price increases on the horizon reaching 6-10%, this is just another reason to purchase now instead of waiting.
