2021 Memories at Portable Restroom Trailers

As we make our way to the end of another year, we can’t help but think back on what 2021 has brought. It’s been quite a journey! We have seen our communities work hard during a global pandemic, support family and friends through major transitions, and endure seeing much of the reality we are used to changing consistently. One thing that can’t be denied is the resilience of our country as we learn, adapt, and grow. As a company, Portable Restroom Trailers has experienced much of the world’s ever-changing climate through our work, and as we begin 2022, we can’t help but reflect.

Our dynamic sales team works with a variety of industries throughout the year, from manufacturing companies to nonprofit organizations to schools. Despite the many different needs these industries may experience, we pride ourselves in ensuring we have a team that cares, and the hearts of the team are most certainly reflected in the success of our business. 

We asked the sales team to think over this past year - a year that offered a variety of challenges and obstacles - and pinpoint moments that brought them joy, made them laugh, and inspired them to keep working hard. Prioritizing education

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has had some of its biggest impacts on the education system. Parents and teachers alike have had to make difficult decisions as they do their best to educate students without putting them at risk. We applaud the educators of 2021 who worked tirelessly to support children of all ages during this time. Many of them went the extra mile for their learning communities, including Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton CA.

With the purchase of five new portable restroom trailers, they were able to stay open and educating on-campus safely. “It was a rewarding feeling to actually help solve such an issue, considering the state of despair our country was in at the time,” recalls Ron, our team’s National Sales Director. “They were able to start the school year without missing a single day.”

Business does NOT always mean competition

 

Over the years, we have prioritized working with a variety of businesses just getting started in the industry. One of these companies was Madera Rentals in Burbank, CA. 

“The owner is new to the rental business,” recalls Melanie, a PRT Sales Coordinator. “Just bought two trailers from us. He’s been calling me for months, and we talked about everything concerning the rental trailer business. Trailers, service, marketing, and more.  He was so excited to get started. I have guided him along, and he is now renting his trailers. I am proud I could help him start this new venture, and sell him his first trailers.”

Sometimes, providing excellent customer service means getting a business on its feet!

 

Going the extra mile

 

Despite the joy they bring, weddings always come with a little stress. This was definitely the case as Brianna connected with Ivy, another member of our sales team, to inquire about rental options for the special day.

“The one-day wedding rental was about 25 minutes from my house. The bride lives a few hours away out of state and was having trouble being everywhere she needed to be in the days leading up to her wedding. I offered to go meet with the restroom rental delivery driver to select an appropriate location to set up the unit myself and make sure everything went smoothly. Ended up scouting out the venue, taking a few photos, and discussing with the bride and wedding coordinator to map out where the unit would be located, and where guests would park.” 

“Since we rent to clients all over the country, it's not often I get to work with a client ‘in my own backyard,’ and it was extra-rewarding to be able to fill in for the bride and provide this level of personal support.”

Laughing through learning experiences

 

The Damiano Center is a nonprofit organization in Duluth MN that services the homeless community. When they got their portable restroom trailers, it was a learning experience from start to finish even for Tracy, PRT’s Client Care Specialist.

“I had manuals out in front of me walking him through every step of the way (I myself was a bit green on some of this) from the water heater, to the furnace and everything in between,” she shares. “For about 2 weeks, he would call me for our daily get-together. He was more than gracious and appreciative of my patience - I told him I was used to it with my husband since he doesn't ever read directions, tries to throw them out immediately! - but we both laughed and learned together.”

 

The value of customer service

 

While our team always hustles for the next big sale, sometimes it’s all about providing customer service at the right time. “I can site multiple sales that happened because the client said we were the only company that got back to them of the multiple companies they reached out to,” says Scott, another National Sales Specialist. “That’s why outreach and follow-up are often the most important aspects of the job.”

Just for fun!

 

As the sales team goes through their daily leads, they spend much of their time on the phone with potential buyers - and occasionally, people who don’t quite understand what we do! Lou, a Sales Coordinator, recalls a funny chat he had with someone over the phone who misunderstood our shower trailer operations. “He answered by saying that he was not looking to buy a trailer, he was looking for a shower trailer where he could take a shower!”
