As leading providers of ADA portable bathrooms for rent, we often get to work with emergency services and first responder organizations. All over the country, many of these organizations are not only operated by brave staff, but volunteers as well. We are always happy to partner with these organizations and supply them with the small amenities they’ll need while assisting their community.

We recently partnered with Burnsville Fire and Rescue, a local fire department and ambulance service that serves their community in Minnesota. Read a little about them:

“Burnsville's 44-member career fire and ambulance service continues to be committed and dedicated to preserving life, safety and property in the community. The department's organizational values are demonstrated in a strong and common belief of providing efficient and effective services of the highest quality in Emergency Medical & Ambulance Care, Fire Suppression, Public Education, Protective Inspections, and Safety Awareness.

The City of Burnsville has two fire stations that are strategically located to provide a quick response in times of need. The stations, staffed 24 hours a day by professional firefighters and paramedics, also serve as a resource for the surrounding neighborhood and community.

After 13 years as a combined Public Safety Department with police, the Burnsville Fire Department was created on Nov. 29, 1981 with 23 career firefighters. On Sept. 4, 1984, the department hired seven paramedics and started providing Advanced Life Support ambulance service to the community. Burnsville is one of the few departments in the state that serves as full time fire and emergency medical services (EMS) responders for its city.”

These responders are dedicated to keeping their community safe, so when they reached out to us needing ADA portable bathrooms for rent, we were happy to assist.

For first responders, we knew we wanted to find an elegant portable restroom option that could also service the community they support. We showed them a few of our ADA-compliant options, a good choice for them since it would allow for restroom accessibility for all, no matter their limitations. The organization settled on the ADA +2 Station Marina Series.

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of renting and purchasing restroom trailers with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. This app has changed the game when it comes to restroom fleet management, making the job that much easier. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each of our restroom trailers comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit will be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep portable restroom trailers operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable restroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own portable restroom trailers to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable restroom trailers owners and renters can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

The ADA +2 Station Marina Series was an ideal solution for Burnsville Fire and Rescue. Luckily, with ADA portable bathrooms for rent, we were able to supply a perfect restroom solution that was affordable and accessible. Like with Burnsville Fire and Rescue, the perfect fit that balances the two comes with a bathroom trailer rental

Prepare for Hurricane Season with ADA Portable Bathrooms for rent

Every time we work with first responders, we learn something new about being prepared for when emergency strikes. We want to take the time to share the importance of planning ahead and being ready for storms of this nature to hit. Our heart goes out to those who have been affected by the storms this season, and we are ready to supply ADA portable bathrooms for rent to the organizations who aid in hurricane relief.

As you or members of your family or friend group prepare for the storm to come, make sure you are as ready as possible with these tips from leading references.

  1. Know Your Hurricane Risk - Depending on where you live, your risk may be very high or very low. While it may seem obvious which category you fall in, you’d be surprised how much inland dwellers are affected by a storm that seemingly happens only near the coast. For those living on the coast, you are high risk. Depending on the intensity of the hurricane to come, you should have an evacuation plan prepared. You are most at risk for extreme winds and flooding, and surge thunderstorms. For those living inland, reports that coastal flooding can reach tens of miles from the coast. Those living within 75-100 miles from the coast should prepare for an increase in winds and rain. Sign up to get alerts and warnings in your area.
  2. Know Your Evacuation Zone - For those located in high risk areas, flooding is very destructive and driving in flooded areas can be dangerous. We recommend having an evacuation plan in order so that when you are warned by your local officials, you can head to safety. Make sure you have an evacuation plan. Keep your car’s gas tank half full at all times and have any necessary items packed and ready to go. For those who rely on public transportation, contact your local emergency management agency for an evacuation plan. For those living in mid- to low-risk areas, you should still be prepared for extreme weather. Track the storm and listen to local officials as they determine how far inland the storm will travel, and be prepared to take extra precautions against high winds and rain. When you have been instructed to evacuate, please do so for the safety of yourself and your family. Review and create an evacuation plan if necessary.
  3. Prepare Financially - The hardest thing about evacuating can be lack of funds. The Federal Reserve has reported that almost 60 percent of Americans don’t have $400 in savings. Make sure that you aren’t trapped during a hurricane by putting aside a little bit of each paycheck. These funds can ensure that you and your family are ready to go should an evacuation be necessary. Read more tips on financial preparedness. For businesses, purchase business-interruption insurance policies to help protect against losses due to damage.
  4. Strengthen Your Home - Whether you are evacuating or simply need to stay home for shelter, wind and thunderstorms can take a toll on your home. Make sure that the structure of your home is prepared for the intense weather conditions by taking a few precautions. Bring in outdoor furniture or large items that may be tossed by the wind. Trim trees and shrubs to ensure that greenery isn’t blown around, becoming capable of damaging your home. Take measures to reinforce your roof, windows, and doors, and use flood damage resistant materials. Should you need to evacuate, these additional steps could allow you to come home to minimal damage.
  5. Stock Up on Supplies - There are so many supplies that you can get beforehand to ensure that you aren’t caught in the chaos before evacuation time or during times when shelter is required. Think ahead and stock up on key items before it becomes urgent. ATMs and credit cards may not work during power outages, so take out some cash to have on hand for purchases. Stock an emergency kit with a battery operated radio, flashlights, non-perishable food, entertainment for children if necessary, bottled water, and blankets. Keep in mind that should you need to stay in your home for safety, this is all you have to rely on. Visit for a thorough list of items to stock up on should you need to take shelter for a long period of time.
