Our new client has a unique and intriguing history there on the island’s north shore. When they contacted us, they were looking for alternative ways to provide luxurious restroom accommodations at their expansive beachfront farm estate. Their business is partly a labor of love – preserving and propagating rare and endangered native plant species. It is partly an event venue – hosting destination weddings and events for people seeking the perfect tropical backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. An Authentic Island Retreat with a Unique History
In 2007, our client acquired a unique and special piece of property on Oahu. The estate is located along a stretch of shoreline known as the “7-mile miracle” because of the 30-foot swells that can be found during the winter months. This stretch is home to many of the most famous surfing competitions in the world. While the beaches are amazing, the surreal natural surroundings make this location stand out from the rest of the north shore.
The plantation-style home on the property was constructed in 1947. It sits back several hundred feet off the beach, with sprawling gardens and manicured lawns that are complemented by the backdrop of the thick tropical forest. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is unforgettable.
It was an appreciation for the natural beauty of the island lead our client to get involved with reservation efforts for the rare native loulu palm tree. This majestic tree is endemic to Oahu, but is considered to be at risk due to a combination of development and invasive species.
Upon purchasing the property, the business owners began cultivating native populations of the rare tree – and their seedlings can now be found planted throughout the estate’s gardens. Their efforts were so successful that they have now planted seedlings and young trees all around the island, even offering tree dedication services as part of their business.
Luxury Portable Restroom For Venue in Hawaii
In addition to the estate’s ecological mission, it is also a popular and highly-sought after Hawaiian wedding venue. Because of the estate’s winding layout, several different settings are available – each as magical as the next. There are open lawns along the beach, private gardens hidden among the forest, and the charm of the classic plantation-style home.
To ensure that every wedding, retreat, and event is perfectly outfitted with luxurious linens and perfect place settings – the venue began offering an impressive range of rental items from bars and buffets to fine china and festive accent lighting. Over time, wedding planners and coordinators from other venues began to take advantage of the luxury equipment that our client was offering – and their small rental operation grew into a profitable business of its own.
Hawaii’s Sewage Regulations & Portable Bathrooms
The population of Hawaii is widely distributed across its islands – with Honolulu being the only city with a population of over 50,000 people. In low-density areas, cesspools were traditionally a very common way for locals and natives to dispose of sewage and wastewater. Recent state regulations are quickly changing this, however, requiring cesspools to be replaced with more modern alternatives like septic tanks.
When our new client initially contacted us, they were looking for a way to expand their capacity as a wedding venue while remaining in compliance with their community’s updated sewage handling regulations.
