Portable Restrooms Help Music Festival Location Expand Offerings

Summer is the season of music, as warmer weather allows fans across the country to pack outdoor venues to hear their favorite artists play. Castleton Festival in Virginia is one location filling up the calendar with special performances. Castleton focuses on bringing classical music, theatre and opera to fans spanning all types of artists and generations.

In 1997, world famous conductor Lorin Maazel built a theatre on the site of an old chicken coop, and invited some talented musician friends of his to inaugurate the tiny “Globe Theatre.” Twelve years later, an opera festival was born called the Castleton Festival. The program has grown over the years to include symphonic concerts, chamber music, master classes, recitals, Prose Theatre, and the Castleton Artists Training Seminar (C.A.T.S.).

Situated in the rolling hills of Rappahannock County, Virginia, the location of Castleton Festival offers a unique challenge for permanent restroom facilities. With over 10,000 onsite patrons expected for the 2015 Castleton Festival, the organization worked with Portable Restroom Trailers to purchase two trailers. The new portable restrooms will help Castleton Festival enhance their patrons’ experience, as well as provide for much needed ADA compliant restrooms on site. In addition, they are hoping the restroom trailers will allow them to broaden the number of times they can have groups on location at Castleton each year.

An ADA compliant restroom trailer was the top priority for Castleton Festival. They purchased a Single Elite ADA trailer. The unit is specifically designed to accommodate the needs of disabled users, and can also be utilized as a family suite by those caring for small children or older adults that need special assistance. It includes 1 ADA unisex suite and features a hydraulic lift system that allows the entire restroom trailer to lower to the ground with the push of a button. Every fixture inside has been chosen with accessibility in mind, and there is ample room inside for a full 360 turning radius for wheelchairs.

To complement the Single ADA trailer, Castleton Festival also purchased a 2015 Comfort Series 3 Station Malibu trailer. The unique floor plan includes 2 women’s suites and 1 men’s suite, each with a separate entrance. It has a beautiful earth tone interior with coordinating designer countertops and flooring.

The new portable restrooms are a welcome addition to Castleton Festival. We had such a pleasure working with them to select the right trailers for their needs and budget. We hope their 2015 season is a huge success, and patrons are pleased with the new restroom facilities!
