Restroom Trailer for Duke Energy

As we partner with more and more companies around the country, we are noticing a significant, positive trend that has swept through businesses both small and large. Employees have become the number 1 priority, and we couldn’t agree with this more. That’s why we continue to design restroom trailer units that are upscale and comfortable, ensuring that all businesses who need to purchase one for their staff only get the very best.

We recently partnered with Duke Energy, a company that has truly succeeded in building the American Dream. They started small only to grow to be one of the largest electric companies in the country. Read a little about them:

“We are one of the largest electric power holding companies in the United States, providing electricity to 7.7 million retail customers in six states. We have approximately 51,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity in the Carolinas, the Midwest and Florida – and natural gas distribution services serving more than 1.6 million customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and the Carolinas. Our commercial business owns and operates diverse power generation assets in North America, including a portfolio of renewable energy assets. We are transforming our customers’ experience, modernizing our energy grid, generating cleaner energy and expanding our natural gas infrastructure to create a smarter energy future for our customers.”

This is a company that prioritizes customers and employees alike. When they came to us needing a restroom trailer that would service their onsite staff in North Carolina, we were happy to help.

A RESTROOM TRAILER SOLUTION

We discussed employee bathroom needs with Duke Energy and began to showcase some great restroom trailer options. The company needed a medium-sized unit that would be an add-on to the brick-and-mortar restroom. This option was more affordable than expanding their permanent restrooms due to permitting, construction costs, and regulations. The affordable solution we found for them was the 4 Station Coastal Series.

This restroom trailer, measuring 13 feet with a 100 gallon fresh water tank and 395 gallon waste tank, is compact but mighty. It can service up to 250 visitors before requiring maintenance, which allows the company’s employees to use the restroom comfortably and whenever they need it.

To ensure safe entry, the porches to each of the restroom trailer’s entry doors are equipped with ample lighting for easy access no matter what time, day or night. The entry ways have two sturdy aluminum steps and railing for additional safety.

On this Coastal Series restroom trailer, guests will find three private bathrooms: two for women and one for men with an added urinal. All restrooms are designed with style in mind, showcasing nautical interiors with modern flooring and color coordinated surfaces. They also include water saving flushable toilets, a sink vanity with a shatterproof mirror, hand dryer, and paper towels.

The men’s suite of this portable restroom trailer is versatile with a toilet and urinal option. To ensure the entire unit maintains a comfortable climate, air conditioning and heat strips are installed and able to adjust the temperature so that outdoor weather does not affect the interior’s experience. As an added measure, insulated walls and ceiling surround the entire unit, further aiding in keeping the interior temperature just right.

As we continue to partner with new businesses, we want to highlight the value of purchasing trailer restrooms with the Smarter Restrooms App feature. Read ahead to discover three key upgrades that the app provides.

  1. Receive Timely Notifications

Each portable bathroom trailer unit comes with water saving flushable toilets, running water from sinks, and sometimes, showers and other amenities. This means that fresh water tank and waste tank levels require careful monitoring.

No need to do this math on your own any longer! The Smarter Restroom App sends the fleet managers alert notifications when waste and freshwater tank levels are 2⁄3 full or empty, causing the unit will be out of service shortly. This is sure to boost productivity, allowing your team to have easy access to the information they need to keep restroom rentals operating smoothly.

  1. All-In-One Control System

Nothing is more important than the experience of your guests. We want to ensure that every user has a comfortable experience in a climate-controlled unit with all the amenities of a brick-and-mortar restroom. This is an easy achievement with the app’s system operations control feature.

The app detects and controls shore power, interior climate temperatures, and up-to-date weather conditions, giving units winter protection from freezing temperatures and keeping things cool when hot. This ensures that restroom fleet managers stay updated from a remote location - they’ll know what changes are needed to the unit and when, which allows for a consistently pleasant restroom experience for guests.

The app also allows for geometric locating, allowing managers to see the exact locations of all portable bathroom trailers at all times.

  1. Offsite Unit Management

The most tasking part of operating a portable bathroom trailer fleet is basic management. Making the trip back and forth to one or many units takes up valuable time, which can lower efficient customer service. The app addresses this issue as well.

Managers have capabilities to remotely control lights, air conditioning, heating, water heaters, and trailer power. This means managers can operate more restroom trailers off-site, expand their operations, and provide superior service.

Overall, the Smarter Restrooms App was developed to allow businesses who use or own restroom rentals to manage them more effectively. The app allows the management team to get more done in less time, makes fleet operations easier in general, and saves valuable employee time. Now, with the app, portable bathroom trailer owners can ensure that restroom visitors have a top-notch experience with less manual labor.

Winterize Your Trailer Restrooms

Winter portable restrooms for rent

For those who experience extreme weather conditions, we know how hard it can get to maintain your restroom trailer. Maintenance issues are bound to arise: what if your water freezes? What if the hose gets clogged by ice? How do you keep your restroom guests comfortable during use?

These are all thoughts we’ve had when thinking about how to continue to improve our product. We want you to have the highest quality experience possible after your purchase. When it comes to cold weather, note these tips to ensure your restroom trailers stay functioning and keep that high quality for long periods of time.

PROTECT YOUR WATER SUPPLY

  1. Wrap heat tape around a ¾” garden hose. Use duct tape to hold it in place, about every 12 inches.
  2. Put foam tube insulation around the hose and heat tape. Leave the plugs and power lights uncovered.
  3. Run duct tape down the insulation, leaving the connecting ends, plugs and power lights uncovered. If you cover them, you will not be able to connect the water or power. Leave test lights and power lights uncovered (for testing and to be sure the hose remains working).

CREATE A BOX

  1. Place two 1500-watt electric heaters under the unit. Be sure you have sufficient power!
  2. Build a 2×2 or 2×4 wood frame to fit underneath each side of the unit. This is going to box the bottom of the outside of the unit.
  3. Fill any gaps with insulation
  4. Cut ½” plywood to fit frame for each side. Be sure to consider stairs when cutting your wood. Stairs should be out and in place before measuring.
  5. Measure and cut out a 6”x6” square to cover the drain access. Attach this with hinges so you can access the drain when needed. This will protect drain valve from freezing.
  6. Eliminate gaps and holes on the tongue side of the unit with R-13 (or greater) insulation.
  7. Staple insulation inside the wood box
  8. Cut a piece of insulation in half and lay it on the ground where the box will be placed. This eliminates gaps between the wood and the ground.

AFTER PLYWOOD IS ATTACHED

  1. Fill any small gaps on the top and bottom of the box with insulation
  2. Staple bubble wrap around the outside of the wood unit. This closes of gaps and keeps cold air out and heat in.
  3. Use electrical tape to cover plug connections that will remain outside.

FOR UNITS NOT IN USE FOR THE WINTER

Eliminate the use of power and water until the unit is ready to be used again.

  1. Drain water from all the lines.
  2. Add non-toxic RV “Pink Water System” antifreeze
  3. Unplug

Follow these simple tips and your restroom trailers will maintain their quality for a long time coming!

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YEAR-END TAX STRATEGIES WITH PORTABLE RESTROOM TRAILERS

restroom trailers purchased with Section 179 Deduction

Although the end of the year quickly approaches, it is important for many businesses to continue looking for ways to save money and make smart investments. Many may be inclined to wait until 2020 to sell their used portable restroom trailer or to buy a new one, thinking this is the best course of action. Much to these business owners’ surprise, this is not the case!

Under the Section 179 Deduction, you can earn a tax break by selling and buying NOW! This is a savings for all business owners that not many are aware of; there is no advantage in waiting to sell or buy new portable restroom trailers. If you wait until January 1, 2019, you may actually lose money! Capitalize on great deals with our in-stock units to save on the total cost, and ensure delivery by December 31, 2018 to qualify for the section 179 deduction.

As stated on the IRS website:

“You can elect to recover all or part of the cost of certain qualifying property, up to a limit, by deducting it in the year you place the property in service. This is the section 179 deduction. You can elect the section 179 deduction instead of recovering the cost by taking depreciation deductions.”

To learn more on the IRS website, click here.

What is the Section 179 Deduction?

Using the Section 179 tax code, you can deduct the full purchase price of any equipment which qualifies and is purchased or financed during the tax year in question. What this means is if you buy or lease equipment (like portable restroom trailers), it is possible to deduct the full purchase price from your gross income. By adding up your total equipment, software, and vehicles purchased for your business in 2019, you can write off or expense up to 100% of the cost of a portable restroom for purchase for up to $500,000, and then 50% of the remaining balance up to $2,000,000! Leveraging this deduction allows businesses to jump on what they need now instead of waiting over the next few years by only writing off the depreciation values. With industry price increases on the horizon reaching 6-10%, this is just another reason to purchase now instead of waiting.

Assets eligible for the deduction don’t need to be brand new, just new to you. This means that new and used portable restroom trailers are applicable. If you purchase a new portable restroom or shower trailer, we also offer a great one-year buy back program of up to 80% of the original purchase price based on unit condition.

To make this process easier for our customers, we have secured extremely attractive financing through our bank. We are offering 90 days same as cash with some of the best rates ever on portable restroom trailer equipment. Contact us to learn more about our financing offers.

For more information, visit this site devoted to this tax deduction. Please make certain you also have an educated conversation with your tax preparer; you will need to fill out part one of IRS form 4562 for this deduction.
