Florida Uses a Restroom Trailer At Mile Marker 299
The Florida Turnpike runs north to south through Florida and is 312 miles long. One section of the Turnpike runs through Leesburg, Florida. Okahumpka Service Plaza at mile marker 299, is a full service rest stop. Since renovations are currently taking place there, the restrooms had to be closed. But Areas USA FLTP, LLC reached out to Portable Restroom Trailers for a solution to accommodate the thousands of travelers that drive through, especially during the busiest travel season of the year.
The company purchased and customized an ADA +10 unit trailer. This 39-foot restroom trailer contains a separate men’s and women’s area with large central rooms, including brightly lit vanity mirrors. Each guest has a clean, fresh interior with long privacy stalls and locking doors. The toilets are china and fully flushable for cleanliness and convenience. The restroom trailer is also fully climate controlled with heat and air conditioning so travelers always stay comfortable. Additionally, it was designed with a full sewer line hook up to avoid any problems throughout the duration of the project.DSC_0369
This restroom trailer is ADA-compliant which means it follows the standards of the government for handicap accessible facilities. It contains larger rooms for full rotation of wheelchairs, handrails, as well as a non-slip ramp for safe and easy access. ADA restroom trailers are specially designed for efficiency, safety, and privacy.
Purchasing the portable restroom was economically the best option for the company. Once the reconstruction project at the rest stop is complete, the company will be able to re-sell the unit or use the portable restroom trailer for other construction projects.
We wish everyone happy, healthy, and safe traveling through the holiday season!
